I've been a luthier for 23 years, and I'm retired so I have a LOT of free time to indulge . When I start a project I tend to spend 12+ hrs in the shop each day.

I've got 3 coats of Nitro on so far , which is a LONG process as it takes a while to fully cure,  today I'll make the pick guard

for the fretboard I use Howard's Cutting Board Oil , it's food safe and works well. I'll rub it in and let is sit for 30 minutes then wipe off excess.

Howard's is mineral oil.  you might want to change to MCT on bound fingerboards.  It's not petroleum based.

That's a beautiful blue!  Trans Tint?

Yes it's Trans tint : Yellow, Blue and Purple , back sanded and  many shades .   7 coats of Nitro so far..  nice gloss.

Most of my fretboards are non bound, but I've never had any problems with Howards in several years of use. and I have a quite a few treated
