JohnCovach Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Vote on your most wished for holiday Heritage and tell us why you chose it. (For those who do not celebrate the December holidays, just consider this your end-of-year gift.)
GuitArtMan Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Well I've already got two 535s, a 137 and a G word pre-historic '59 flame top RI so I've got those bases covered. The 575 is not my cup of tea, but that 525 has got me jonesin'...
yoslate Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Well, this is fun! I'll be a tad on the greedy side! First, I'd like to see the guitar I ordered from Jay eight months ago. Almondburst Super Eagle, ebony pickguard, Lollar P-90's.... And because I've been a really good boy, a mahogany, single-pickup 137 with a bound neck and headstock, and an ebony board. ;D The Super is my Dream Guitar, and I've picked the 137 as minimalist yang to the Super's yin. Play "Autumn Leaves " on the Super, "Mississippi Queen" on the 137. Ahhh,...balance! 8)
Dick Seacup Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 I already have a first-run H137D and a Millenium DC, so I think I'd like an H157. I wouldn't turn down any model, though.
Kazwell Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 I don't get it. ??? Uh, no offense guys, but what is so great about the H-137? Looks to me like Heritage's equivalent of the G word Studio.
yoslate Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Kazwell, I'm just now trying to recover some facsimiles of the truly nice vintage instruments I owned and let go to acquire some other truly nice one when I was twenty-two, didn't have two nickels to rub together, and always had to let something go to get the next great thing.... Now, I can't and wouldn't lay down the kind of cash it would take to get another '67 custom Tele, '52 Goldtop, or the dead mint '59 Junior I picked up at the yardsale for $75. The alternatives? Well, for some of those pieces My Heritages do very nicely, thank you! For me, the 137 would stand in for that Junior I never should have traded. "Too soon old; too late smart...." slate

Let's see... Solid Honduran Mahogany... Real nitrocelulose lacquer... Lollar P90s... Pigtail wrap around bridge... Pleked at the factory for beautiful set up... Mine is light... Super resonant, and yet feels solid as a rock... Sustain for days - probably the best clean sustain of any guitar I have owned/played... tone, Tone, TONE!!!
JohnCovach Posted December 9, 2007 Author Posted December 9, 2007 Mine would be a used Heritage: the H-357 with the original banjo-style tuners.
Thundersteel Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 so I think I'd like an H157. You're in luck! Mine is currently for sale. Look in the "For Sale" part of the forums. PM me if interested.

I have heard some nice things about the Jason Lollar P-90's and I can see how a solid body minus the maple cap will produce better sustain. The combination of these two elements is a good tone formula, that's for sure-as the brighter P-90's make up for the darker tone of the mahogany. I can understand the attraction to this model now. Only thing I still have a problem with are those dot inlays. It would almost be better looking if there we no inlays at all on the fretboard in keeping with a more minimalist vibe. Plus, I have only seen the red and black models, but I think a more natural wood stain would also look nice.

Saw that and you have no idea how tempting it is. With what I just shelled out on a Wii for the boys (try and find one, in stock, that isn't a monstrous bundle of stuff you don't want!) I could almost have that 157. :'( Making it even less likely to happen is the (bicycle) trainer I just bought myself (fluid resistance...quiet and smooth!) and the keyboard I'm about to buy. Believe me, T-Steel, if it weren't coming just now...that is one beautiful pair of gits.
Kazwell Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 There's a H-150 beauty on E-Bay 710.00 with 18 hours to go. Already has two bids... Hmmm Christmans IS around the corner....watch it end up selling for 1200 after all is said and done. That's just too high for me, unless...... I shut the heat off all winter....hmmm........nah, wife wouldn't go for it Here's the E-Bay link.... http://cgi.ebay.com/Heritage-H-150-CM-Made...bayphotohosting Best blue CM I've seen in a while. http://www.networkcbt.com/Heritage/DSC01035x.jpg[/img]
Thundersteel Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Best blue CM I've seen in a while. I wish they would leave the pickguards off! They cover up too much of that beautiful wood!

I would LOVE to hear that pup combination, so if you buy keep me posted.
doggy1972 Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Those H525s with P90s look bloody marvelous to me.
V23505 Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 A Korina H150CM, w/Vintage Sunburst finish on top, Duncan Antiquities, RS Kit, Sperzels, Bone Nut, Long Tenon, Pig Tail stoptail and fat 50's neck... Ahhhhh, a Christmas corksniffer's delight:)
tulk1 Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Jonesing hard for an H575 Tobacco Burst. Or an H525TB, which would be my preference between the two. If the P90's just weren't dog-eared. Was never a fan of those. If an HB can be mounted in an arch top, couldn't the recessed P90's be as well?
Windstring Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Mine would be a used Heritage: the H-357 with the original banjo-style tuners. That's a nice obscure choice! Being more an acoustic archtop guy, I'd go for a mint tap-tuned (top and back) Johnny Smith in some custom color like transparent green or blue.... :-* Cheers.
yoslate Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Windstring: Nice concept, very appealing sounding stick! Kudos for taking the road less travelled....
111518 Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 There's a hole in my accumulation of guitars between a LP custom with buckers and a Jr ... a 150 with lollar P-90s would slide in very nicely. And Santa, give it an ebony board, make it more black to yellow than Heritage's osb/tobacco burst, and give it that deep and wide chevron flame like Duane's. Being good wears thin without inspiration. Think if I leave this on the screen for the next couple of weeks my wife might see it and ....
Kazwell Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 And remember all you Heritage dreamers, if you have been naughty, Santa will fill your stockings with this POS: http://img3.musiciansfriend.com/dbase/pics/products/8/6/3/460863.jpg[/img] so you better be good for goodness sake!!!
