brentrocks Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 So I had the bright idea to take a H150 and turn it into a Silverburst. I'v always been a big fan of the Silverburst finsh...most people either love it or hate it. I started with a black 2019 H150 that i picked up used...in really decent condition. 9lbs, 5oz. Medium beefy neck. Then you insert the lead finisher for the Heritage Custom Shop, Dave Teski, who I hired to add a middle humbucker and re finish the top in tradition Silverburst. He did a great job! I wired and assembled the 150 today. I put a Duncan Antiquity in the neck, Duncan 59 in the middle and a Duncan Seth Lover in the bridge. I used the factory Pinnacle locking bridge and tailpiece. Its a really fun guitar to play. Sounds great too!
yoslate Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 Not a fan of Silverburst (though I know you are, Brent), but I must say, superb job!! Hell...even I like that!
ElChoad Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 I love Silverburst. I have been trying to buy an '82 LP Custom from a friend of mine for 30 years. It's got a great yellowing effect. Nicely done, Brent!
Spectrum13 Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 Almost perfect... fingerboard could be darker
skydog52 Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 Dave's the Man! Nicely done Brent. What's better than 2 pickups................3 pickups. Tone possibilities.
Gitfiddler Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 @brentrocksThat really came out great. How are your pickup controls laid out? I had to have Ren talk to my guitar tech to get my 3-p'up 157 worked out the way I wanted. That resulted in a push-pull pot so I could get the traditional 'neck + bridge' tone, in addition to the 'neck only', 'bridge only and 'neck-middle-bridge' connection.
MartyGrass Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 Brent always makes it happen. Beautiful!

Yup…push pull bridge tone pot to activate the middle pickup.

Jackman Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 When I read about what you were planning to do, I cringed. After seeing the results, I find myself wanting a silver burst! With three pickups of course. I’d probably never use the middle one but it looks so cool. Great job!
Scatterbrain Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 I'm kinda doing the same thing with my new H150 CC AA

SouthernCanuck Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Does smoke come out of the middle pickup? Are you secretly Ace Frehley? S_C
