brentrocks Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 A lot of you may not know this, but Mark Slaughter, of the 90s rock band SLAUGHTER was endorsing HERITAGE GUITARS in Kalamazoo Michigan, back in 1990-1992 Mark had 2 signature models with Heritage The first one was called the Slaughter ROCK. A very funky shaped guitar. There were a very limited number of these produced. The second was the the Mark Slaughter H150. This was a limited run of 50. It was a cherry red H150 with the addition of mother of pearl block inlays on a rosewood fretboard, a Gibson style pickguard and marks sig on the headstock. I’m a HUGE fan of Marks guitars. I was fortunate enough to find one of marks personal guitars a couple years ago at the Kalamazoo Guitar Center. Mark was nice enough to give me backstage passes and check out the guitar. We had a blast!!! Yesterday I found one of the Slaughter H150s in Europe!!! I pulled the trigger on it!!! Hopefully will have it next week!!!! Enjoy the pics!!
SouthernCanuck Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 Since you've played them all - how would you compare a Gary Moore to a Slaughter? S_C
brentrocks Posted June 15, 2023 Author Posted June 15, 2023 It’s been along time since I’ve played either one of those models. It seems like I remember the necks on the Gary Moore’s being a little thinner. But everything else was pretty much, the same except for the pick ups. The Gary Moore’s had active EMGs from the factory. And the slaughters have the standard schaller golden 50s.
DetroitBlues Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 I'd be curious to know the neck shape too. Looks killer Brent!

big bob Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 Didn’t I trade you a slaughter for the psychic popsicle?
brentrocks Posted June 16, 2023 Author Posted June 16, 2023 Just now, big bob said: Didn’t I trade you a slaughter for the psychic popsicle? Maybe. I don’t remember

skydog52 Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 Nice slice of Heritage History. Great find Brent! Enjoy
brentrocks Posted July 1, 2023 Author Posted July 1, 2023 When I went to FedEx to pick it up, I grabbed the box and the case was literally FLOPPING around in the box!!! No bubble wrap, no packing!!!! I opened it at FedEx. I was almost certain that the headstock was gonna be broke. The only thing that was broke was the switch tip!!!! Lucky??!!! OMFG!!!!! If he hadn’t slacked the strings, I’m sure there would have been a break…although, the guitar did fit very snug in the case…probably a good thing!!!!
bolero Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 Wow, good luck there! And congrats! Nice top on it too
golferwave Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 Excellent Brent, enjoy it! I know the one I sold you a few years back was #020, wish I still had it as they're pretty rare.
