hopkinwfg Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 Howdy guys and girls ! Am looking for a replacement on a Faber bridge set together with a tailpiece set from philadelpia luthier... The Faber bridge will have to be an I insert with the fitting bridge that made from bell brass.... The tailpiece and stud will be from lightweight aluminium... With both of these materials Brass + aluminium will it have a good tone that is gonna sound aggressive louder, more upper mid and brightness girthy acousically ?
davesultra Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 Won’t know until you try it out. There are no absolutes.

Thanks for your help @davesultra but all in all gibson has their custom shop with a zinc and brass bridge (ABR1) and an aluminum tailpiece and probably a steel stud post right? have done some reading many like zinc which dont rob the lowend off and i checked clips on youtube it seems like aluminum sound good enough with brass taken away more lowend and girth... Aluminum sound just right full bodied piano like highs and girthy mids and good lowend... not sure about how zinc is like ?
