We visit this topic from time to time, but it is always a joy.  One of my favorite finishes is the chestnut sunburst.  One nice feature is that the color difference between maple and mahogany isn't stark.  Here are two older instruments.  Note how the artists spraying them went for a slightly different result.

Tough question: I don't know if I could choose, I like them all!

I like being able to see the wood through the finish, although some of my faves are solid colors. 

And solid colors get even better as they age & the nitro takes on the texture of the wood underneath.

They are all great, especially the old way.  Vintage Wine Burst is a nice one.

Kuz told me the finish on my H535 P90 is a special Marv Burst, I love it. I really like the transitions...

That looks like VWB, a Marv speciality
