jrmintz Posted March 5 Posted March 5 I caught a quick glimpse the other day of a Heritage model called an XP-i or XP, or something like that. It looked like a semi-hollow body with no F holes and humbucking pickups. Does anyone know what model I mean? I've never seen another one. Just curious
jrmintz Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 Here's a picture of the guitar. It's not a great photo, the guitar is not small across the lower bout, maybe 16 inches. It's a thinline type body.
Gitfiddler Posted March 17 Posted March 17 That looks like a one-off "Heritage SAE Custom" model. https://bluebookofguitarvalues.com/products/heritage-sae-custom
bolero Posted March 17 Posted March 17 (edited) there's a red one just like that white one jrmintz posted, in one of the old catalogs I think it was a variation of the SAE model as mentioned above Edited March 17 by bolero
TalismanRich Posted March 17 Posted March 17 The guys seemed to be playing around with a lot of ideas the first few years before settling down into their core of archtops, semi-hollow and solid bodies. They tried quite a few stripped down models, without pick guards, basic pickups, and simple one color paint jobs. The Mark Slaughter, HB 1 and 4 bases, Parsons St III and Stat come to mind. I don't think they sold a lot of them. Unfortunately, while they might be rare, they don't seem to be commanding a premium in the used market.
