bolero Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 hey, I always wondered why Heritage makes the long oval hole behind the toggleswitch, on the back...it can't be THAT awkward to put the parts in there if Gibson is still doing it...? I always thought the circle looked more elegant any clues?
Thundersteel Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 I have no idea--maybe so they have more room to install the switch properly?
golferwave Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Another change to make it a little different from Gbrand? I know they had to make some changes to the instruments back in the 80's in their legal talks with NORLIN. I'll bet Ren could shed some light on it.
rooster Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Actually, it adds quite a bit more room to wire the switchcraft toggle. G%bson LP's are much more difficult to wire, since the solder tabs end up rammed up very close to the walls of the round cutout. I just fixed a Yamawho that had that very problem, and I've had to bend the tabs on many G%bsons over the years. I like the oblong cutout. Very tech-friendly. rooster.
