brentrocks Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 I got the call...after a long month of waiting...the H 150 P Silverburst is complete! WITH HRWS!!!! This is my first solid body w/ HRWs and i have to say the HRWs are a great match for a 150!!!! They are so articulate and clear!! The neck HRW is so friggin FAT!! it sounds wonderful!!!! They take gain really well too in a solid body....nice and dirty, good response. I had Pete install push/pulls too and the HRWs split like a dream...great twang! Yeah its a 150 P, no frills...but it plays great, a lot better on the back than the 157, sounds fantastic....and i love the paintjob ;D http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/H%20150%20P%20silverburst/IMG_0035.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/H%20150%20P%20silverburst/IMG_0034.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/H%20150%20P%20silverburst/IMG_0038.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/H%20150%20P%20silverburst/IMG_0041.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/H%20150%20P%20silverburst/IMG_0042.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/H%20150%20P%20silverburst/IMG_0044.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/H%20150%20P%20silverburst/IMG_0046.jpg[/img]
pro-fusion Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Nice! I think the silverburst came out better on this guitar than it did on the 157.
fxdx99 Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Very cool - congrats, Brent. Your collection is as unique as it's ever been, especially the breadth of the solid body models.
brentrocks Posted March 7, 2009 Author Posted March 7, 2009 Beautiful guitar! What do you play through? Thanks man! this is my rig....Peavey 100 watt head, BBE sonic maximizer, Boogafunk 1X12 thiel cab http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/zzOther%20guitar%20stuff/p1010103.jpg[/img]
tulk1 Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Again? Looks good, Brent. And yeah, I bet that Poplar bod is easier to handle.
Kuz Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Cool now we can get our 70s funk band back together (or the KISS tribute band, which ever you prefer) ;D Seriously cool guitar!!!
Steiner Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Brent, Jay phoned today and is concerned about Wolfe no longer having the largest collection of Heritages. You better send that one here before you get "visited" by the Miami connection. Who ever painted that got it right!
brentrocks Posted March 7, 2009 Author Posted March 7, 2009 Thanks Fellas! ;D I think Jay should do a limited run of these....i think they would sell like hotcakes!!!! i need to lay this baby in the grass  the inside pics dont do it justice! the back and sides are beat up a little, but overall it is a pretty clean guitar...just a few chips that have been colored in w/ black sharpie
yoslate Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Brent: I agree with pro-fusion. This one is a bit more subtle (I know, silverburst in and of itself is not at all subtle!) than the last one. I think the creamy binding and dot inlays tone it down and give the finish a little more room to work; this plank has a vintage vibe to it. The fingerboard is a nice slab of rosewood, too. Congrats on another well-done project....
brentrocks Posted March 7, 2009 Author Posted March 7, 2009 Thanks again guys Pete is such a great guitar tech...he worked for Gibson when he was a young man, until they moved and then also worked for Heritage....people send him thier guitars from all over the country. Actually he is re-wiring Southpaws H 170 right now but the mini toggles are on back order if anybody has an intest in getting one done...i'll hook you up...Pete is GREAT!!!
SouthpawGuy Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/H%20150%20P%20silverburst/IMG_0035.jpg[/img] That's a nice one Brent ! How much does it weigh ? Just curious as to exactly how much less it weighs than a 150/ 157.
brentrocks Posted March 7, 2009 Author Posted March 7, 2009 http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/H%20150%20P%20silverburst/IMG_0035.jpg[/img] That's a nice one Brent ! How much does it weigh ? Just curious as to exactly how much less it weighs than a 150/ 157. thanks Paul it is almost 2 lbs lighter....its about 8.5
SouthpawGuy Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 thanks Paul it is almost 2 lbs lighter....its about 8.5 Is it about the same weight as the 170 then ?
brentrocks Posted March 7, 2009 Author Posted March 7, 2009 Is it about the same weight as the 170 then ? yup...just about
Kasper1ik Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Brent's at it again!!! Hahaha I'm not gonna lie, that finish is way better than mine, but the rosewood bugs me too much. By the way man, I'm loving the 157. I can definitely say that the silverbursted guitars we own are definitely 1000 times better in person.
brentrocks Posted March 8, 2009 Author Posted March 8, 2009 i think yours is great Derek.....i dont see a ton of difference between them by the way...you likin that 157?
pro-fusion Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 I think silverbursts look better on 157s, but I think Brent's guy maybe refined his work a little on the 150. They're both awesome.
nat120 Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Nice paint job! Who did you have paint your guitar? Did you just have the top painted and how much did that cost? Was it Nitro finish? I was thinking of getting a !50 and just having the top painted in orange sparkle.
