Article on HRW pickups

There was a post a couple days ago that the current site is somehow hosed (folder full, permissions screwed up, something like that) and that the Admin is focused on moving things to a new system as opposed to fixing what the existing hosting company screwed up.  I think.  If you have, or can create, a photobucket.com account, I'd go that way, at least until things get cleaned up.

If the Admin ever gets them cleaned up, that is. :boxing:

Hi Bombassa and Southpawguy,

Looks like uploading the article has been a trial of patience. Thanks for your perseverence. +1

It should be an interesting read.

No problem, I'm looking forward to getting a look at that article also. Thanks for the K.

I'm afraid Bombassa went offline before getting my pms. Have to wait until he comes back online.

The article said the Heritage had power and a "fruitiness" to the tone. Maybe they don't like Boy George sounding axes? ???

Thanks for the article Bombassa and Southpawguy +1. An interesting read that really only confirms my belief in Heritage Guitars.  I'm curious about the "fruitiness" comment re the sound of HRW pickups. I'm guessing they might have meant warmth with a bit of treble that might be more apparent with mild distortion?

I have HRW's in my H575 and Seymour Duncan SN-2 jazz in the neck of my H535 and Ibanez AS80 semis. As I understand it, SD jazz pickups are meant to be the PAF sound with a bit less midrange and a bit more treble.  However, they sound very different to the HRW's in the H575.  It's hard to separate the contribution to tone from the guitar or the pickup and I'm not likely to pull the pickups out of my beautiful H575 any time soon to check.

Cheers Z

I can imagine the meaning of it, but  I'll not make a comment.

Just remembered the first time I connected my H140 to the amp.

The same happened when I plugged in my H150 P90.

The conclusion of this article:

Best sounding guitar: Heritage H150 with HRW pickup - and Scaller rollerbridge ;D ;D ;D
