New member saying hello...

Hello everyone. I'm a new member. My name is Pete and I live at the Jersey Shore. I found this site about a week ago and have been reading alot of the old posts. Very informative and everyone seems to be very friendly.

I purchased a new 575 Custom in 2006 from Wolfe Guitars. It arrived with no issues (maybe one small binding blemish but who cares). I also recently added a 2005 150 CM Sunsetburst with Stormy Monday pickups purchased on E Bay. It was my first e bay guitar purchase and it turned out fine after some basic set up work. Small world that it is, it turns out that it was from a  member here. Thank you Golferwave!

I played a lot back in the 70's then pretty much quit for over 20 years then started playing again (only at home so far) about 5 years ago (I found that if I strummed one of my acoustics it would stop my new born twins from crying... I guess they didn't mind the rusty fingers).

I had been looking at new G....'s but was very unimpressed with the quality not to mention the prices. I stumbled on Heritage on the web and with no local dealers I know of, and after much internet searching I took a leap of faith and ordered one from Jay. The Heritages remind me of the old G.....'s I remember from back in the day (I won't mention the ones I shoud have kept...lots of those stories out there I'm sure). Likewise for my recent G&L Legacy purchase (also from Jay), the newer Fenders did not do much for me.

So as not to get in trouble on my first post I will attempt to paste a photo, Please disregard the slippers at the top, the guitars where being guarded by a 5 year old Spider Man.

I need to figure out again how to add the actual photo... a little low on time right now.

Regards, Pete

Hi Pete and Welcome to the HOC !

Let me post your pic for you ...

Really fine pair of Heritages you have there ! Another sunset burst, definitely top of my favourite finishes.

I'm a relative newcomer to both Heritage and G&L, I hear what you are saying about the newer G'brand and F'brand guitars, they leave me cold also. There are also quite a few G&L lovers on the HOC.

Regards.

Thanks Southpaw, I believe I needed to paste the HTML link to make the photo appear???

Thanks for the invite Brent. Kind of hard right now to make any road trips (playing Mr Mom right now due to the economy etc), although I would love to go, will try to clear it with the "boss". PS: She hasn't noticed the recent purchase yet...wish me luck.

I'll try to repost the photo, here goes...<a href="http://s715.photobucket.com/albums/ww155/ctcpete/?action=view&current=HERITA.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i715.photobucket.com/albums/ww155/ctcpete/HERITA.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Thanks again, Pete

Welcome, Pete! Nice guitars!

I, too have a G&L Legacy. They are much better than the current Fenders.

Hey Pete,  Glad you're on board here and glad you're enjoying the H-150.  Truly great guitars, I'm down to four of them and you got the last one I'll be selling!

I like the guitars & the slippers. ;D

Welcome. You'll really learn a lot here. I know I have. Heritage (especially used) is one of the best values in guitars today.

Welcome-

I try to keep tabs on what is being offered up over on da bay, I know form experience that golferwave has offered up some fine examples.  That sunsetburst H150 is a beaut.  Nice weight on that one too, IIRC.

Anyway, enjoy it and find some good tone, esp. with the kids listening..

Welcome to the forum, Pete!  I grew up in Philadelphia, and my family used to vacation for two weeks (late fifties, early sixties) every summer in Ocean City, where my mom grew up.  Great Egg Harbor, saltwater taffy, jetties, the boardwalk, the giant elephant in Atlantic City (before it was [move]Atlantic City[/move]), Chris's restaurant (with the fleet of old PT boats you could take rides in!), incredible childhood memories!  Your planks are very, very nice!  I, too, have a sunsetburst 150!
