Wouldn't it be nice if Heritage would...

Offer an option where you could just buy the fretted neck w nut and body (attached) with one of their fine quality finishes with the nitrocellulose lacquer. Seems like at least half the folks in this forum end up changing out most if not all the parts anyway.

I mean they make so many of each type anyway, it would save them time and money attaching parts that inevitably end up being taken off and replaced/upgraded. Especially for the folks that don't want holes drilled for pickguards and or the Grover tuning pegs if they choose to take of the pickguard, or go for a different tuning peg manufacturer like Spretzel and have to drill new holes.

Let's face it, except for intense repairs like broken or cracked headstocks or specialty customizations like bone or even Earvana nut installations, most anyone with a steady hand, about 30 bucks worth of tools-which includes a good soldering iron, and some spare time can do hardware replacement work themselves.

I haven't had any luck in the past finding quality G/Heritage type design base kits out there that were worth anything-I saw a couple of Alder wood LP base models on sale on E-Bay, but they looked cheap. Of course as far as Fender body types, there are tons of folks out there selling those due to the easier manufacturing process.

Quite frankly for what I have spent so far in after market parts, I could have easily paid 1K for my H-150 without hardware and still have come out ahead.

Just and idea, although I am certain this concept has been pondered before in this forum....

I believe this topic has been discussed in the LPF as well. The consensus was that since they sell just about every guitar they make now, then why do it?

My thinking is, it would increase turn around time so they could sell even more. Oh that's right. Heritage for example is so efficient with custom order turn around times, that it would be DETRIMENTAL to business to be able to increase turn around while decreasing parts overhead.  ;)

You know, I always figured if a guy were to treat Heritage real nice - tell them their guitars kick butt, etc., they just might build something special for asking politely.

Hamer did that for me 20 years ago, an ebony board and special finish on a "Blitz". I sent them a pic of my guitars, and they told me they stuck it on the refrigerator in the break room. And I've been thinking of talking to Heritage too, but this is not the right time, they're backlogged. But I think they'd build what you want for you when they get caught up.

Won't post the "thread is useless without photos" icon- ain't my style. However, I think the folks here will forgive you if you post a photo of that Hamer...

Hey!  There's a concept...if the boys are listening....  They can build what I want (ordered May 5) and get caught up (well, just a little) at the same time!!  There's the new business model we've been talking about.

To please their customers?

Yoslate, I hear your pain. And the middle of winter isn't the best time of year to be shipping Super Eagles around either. Looks like the dealers are getting some new 07's in so....keep us posted on it.

Don't still have the Hamer, Kaz.
