mark555 Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Just sold my Heritage gits, but I'll probably get another soon enough. HI and a big welcome, What did the doctor say after you told him you'd sold your Heritage guitars?? What have you in mind to replace them with?
t0aj15 Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 This is my latest favorite rig among a dozen or so others. It consists of a Carvin X100-B Series IV head into a Lopo Vintage 2-12" cab that I ordered cut for a 1-15" instead. The speaker is an Eminence Commonwealth (JBL-D130 clone).
kath Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Ah, the new category! This is where my interest in music lies. I see How Heritage guitars get the tone there but what do you do to amplify that tone? My preference is primarily in classic rock from late 60s into the 80s. To get there I've landed on Soldano amps. My favorite being the Decatone. It's 3 channel, 4 6L6 and 5 12AX7s, 100W with simple TMB (shared between the three channels) and an effects loop. Each channel has independent volume and gain settings. It covers a lot of ground at low (practice) level and outdoor fun levels. New they run 3k, I've seen them go across fleabay for 16 to 1800. To say this is the end-all of amps is foolish. I'm Always on the lookout for the sound in my head; looking for the amp that hits the tone, bite and sonic blossom for many songs and artists. She shines with all my Heritages - Eagles, 575, 335 and 445 - yes even the late 70s LP Artist, the precursor to the VIP system me thinks. The questions I pose are: What are you using? What makes it special? What's under the hood? Where does it shine? I'll get some porn up today to show what's under the hood. I wanted to be here early and get things rolling. ;D I have a Roland Jazz Chorus 120 with a separate head and 4 12inch speakers. Allan
zydecosoultrain Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 '65 Twin Reverb ReissueJazzKat TwinKat H575 Mahogany played a Snider 1x12 the other day that i am considering. terrific amp. responsive and warm. Would you be kind enough to tell me about the JazzKat. Do you use it for jazz, and do you prefer the tone of the JazzKat for jazz over the Deluxe reissue. I'm interested because there are a couple of Deluxe Reverb Reissues for sale secondhand hereabouts - not sure if I should trade in my Hot Rod Deluxe for a Deluxe Reverb Reissue, or have two amps and get a JazzKat or Henriksen.
tbonesullivan Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Currently playing the newly acquired TSL122 a lot. Before that, it was the Carvin X-100B series IV through a 2x12 avatar open backed cab with 2 eminence 16 ohm texas heat speakers. Before that, it was the Marshall artist for a while, but I think the artist has been dethroned. There may only be room for one marshall in my collection.
Bluesdawg Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Hey Heritage Lovers, I'm using a 71 Fender super reverb, 69 Fender bassman 10, Fender Blues Deluxe and a 66 Fender Blackface Showman head. I also have a stupid rig for the house that sounds pretty good, Fender mid 80's Yale Reverb with a Line 6 Pod XT in front of it. No Tubes in this one, the POD does all the work. That's about it, please check out my Heritage Album to see the guitars that make it all come together. The Fender sound is good unless you got to have tons of power. I've found that 100 watts has always been to much, ask any sound engineer. Put your money into that big front of house system. EV, JBL, Myers and many more. Peace Al B

Thanks tully The metal thing is Marc Sampson era Matchless Hotbox Classic. One of the precious selection of my drives.
WillKelly Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 I personally "drive" a Heritage Colonial 50W head, fitted with dual EL34's and NOS vintage preamp tubes, vintage rectifier tube and a matching 2x12 Slant Cab with Celestion G12h and V30 12" speakers wired in series at 16 Ohms. The amp is covered in Orange Tolex with Cream tolex panels and a early Marshall fawn grill cloth. This amp is beautiful beyond words, until you hear open up! Yes, you all should be jealous ... this is the first amp I've ever owned that could go from authentic Tweed, to Plexi and beyond ... amazing touch sensitivity too That's what is in my stage rig ... being fed by a '78 Ibanez 2630 Artist Semi-Hollow w/Flying Finger 80's and a TS-808 clone built by myself... Nothing else needed ... it's the best tone I've ever had, and everyone who hears it agrees it's a great one ...
