High Flying Bird Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 I think your wife would be the one to ask. > If you can't get a good answer you can always cut a longer shaft down to length. Good luck. By the way thanks for the great deal on the Seths.
yoslate Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 I searched, but no definitive answer. Thanks! 'Dog, did you do a keyword here, on the HOC? Try "pots shaft length." I think there's some stuff there....
barrymclark Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 I think your wife would be the one to ask. > :this_thread_is_useless_withou Oh... this is about guitar parts. I take that back. No pictures needed.
High Flying Bird Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 I measured the pot I took out of my 150 when I installed the "InTune. It is .8 inch from the top of the case to the end of the shaft.
Rude Dog Posted April 9, 2009 Author Posted April 9, 2009 Thanks everyone. Yes, yes yes; I searched, but I found some chatter about long shafts as well as short so figured I just ask. I'm putting a pair of RS Guitar Works super pots for volumes as well as their standard tone pots. My neck volume has always been scratchy and now it's out from time to time. I wanted to try something with a different taper, which the super pots have. I just bought a couple Russian PIO caps to replace the ceramic disk ones, so we'll see if those make any difference. side note on volume taper: About a year ago I started having trouble dialing in a good tone with my volume knobs and they became very unresponsive. Usually I crank up the amp and volumes can be anywhere from like 4 - 9, rarely on 10 for all sorts of different sounds and levels of responsiveness. I figured it out finally - EH 12AX7s make my amps very responsive to changes in the guitar's volume... who new And it's not the length that's important, it's the girth > HFB, Glad the Seths got a good home!
