Rude Dog Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Clip from a recent gig: http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7571604 pics (actual color has no orange, ice tea-like)
Rude Dog Posted May 4, 2009 Author Posted May 4, 2009 That is...dazzling ! Is that your backyard ? Thanks, that's the "side yard"
Paul P Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Thanks, that's the "side yard" Wow. That bench just wants to be sat in. Tilt head up towards the sun...relax... strum guitar...
thehikingdude Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Wow, that's truly gorgeous! I'm jealous!!!! Very nice score on some good flame.
High Flying Bird Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Nice photo. Good colors in the background and the sky isn't washed out. The guitar is beautiful too.
fxdx99 Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 That top is aweseom - very 50s looking. Nice playing! Really nice vibrato, good build on the solo structure. What are your pickups and amp?
Gitfiddler Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Ain't nothin' like nice wood sunbathing on a comfortable bench. Great photo.
Rude Dog Posted May 4, 2009 Author Posted May 4, 2009 Thanks for all the nice comments. It was overcast and crummy here for about a week, so nice to have some sun and blue skies. fxdx99, Pickups in the guitar are Sheptones. The amp used in that clip was an Epiphone Valve Junior through an Avatar 1x12 with Celstion G12H30. It's funny, I've been "trying on" a different vibrato and it's not there yet; practice, practice.
Rude Dog Posted May 5, 2009 Author Posted May 5, 2009 I guess the clip really sucked? That's alright... my playing is what it is; I don't see too many clips posted & it's nice to see what everyone sounds like.
fxdx99 Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Hey cool - Sheptones are the good stuff And thru and epi valve, eh? I wouldn't have guessed that amp - nice. Eh, one thing about this forum is we don't seem to be too 'up' on posted clips... which is probably why you don't see many posted! But hey, I liked it (love the blues) - both the tune and the playing. Good stuff and thanks for posting it - bravo!
Scooter Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Hey, Rude Dog, nice guitar and nice playing. Thanks for sharing your sites AND sounds. That's a treat. Scoot
wingnut1 Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Beautiful guitar, I love that color. Nice playing on the sound clip.
Dick Seacup Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I guess the clip really sucked? That's alright... my playing is what it is; I don't see too many clips posted & it's nice to see what everyone sounds like. You don't see too many....why, I oughta... One of the longest threads in HOC history was Name That Intro!, with 38 pages of clips interspersed with the usual banter. If you think your playing sucks (it doesn't), go listen to my clips in that thread.

Sorry RD, I did check this thread out and took a look and listen. I was at work and didnt post a comment back. Its all good. Nice tones and playing.
GuitArtMan Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 A member from Monterey? I grew up in Carmel and was actually born and raised there, went to Carmel Woods School, Carmel Middle School and then Carmel High School. I moved away in '82 to go to college but would be back in a heart beat if I could afford it and/or find work there. I used to work at Bartetts Music in Carmel (when there was a Bartletts Music) which was then bought by Dexter Johnson (i worked with him at Bartletts) and became Carmel Music, sadly the retail store is now gone. I also worked at Recycled Reccords in Monterey and know the current ower Mike as he grew up with my odler brother and we have a lot of common friends. Is Bill Delap still the goto guy for guitar repair up there? He was when I lived there, and got some press when he built several guitars for Allan Holdsworth. Great luthier, just don't be in a rush! Small world. Bob

B) I'm going to check out that thread; I've seen it a couple times, but never checked it out, I assumed it was just short clips of the original tracks. Thanks.

Great luthier, just don't be in a rush!Small world. Bob Hey Bob, Recycled Records is still in biz. Yes, Bill DeLap is still around too; a friend of mine just bought an amp off him. Same friend also has one of Bill's guitars - same design/build as the holdsworth guitars, with the floating beams or whatever... Yeah don't even ask how long he had to wait for that bad boy to be built I actually met Alan when he was playing up in Santa Cruz, Bill Delap introduced us. Man is that guy a monster! I'm from NY and been out here about 10 years and finally bought our first house out on River Road. Yep, a small world!
