5thumbs Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Hi all, I just picked up a beautiful used H535 Classic. The serial number is U 05904. Can anyone help me determine what pickups Heritage might have used in this model if this is a 2004 guitar? Thanks for your help! Tim
SouthpawGuy Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Hi all,I just picked up a beautiful used H535 Classic. The serial number is U 05904. Can anyone help me determine what pickups Heritage might have used in this model if this is a 2004 guitar? Thanks for your help! Tim Hi Tim and welcome to the HOC ! Is that a photo of your particular guitar ? If so the one height adjustment screw for each side of the pickups generally indicates Seymour Duncans of some sort, often '59s or Seth Lovers. Two screws per side can be Schallers or Heritages own HRWs. Sometimes the pickup type that is installed is written on the label inside the f-hole.
Gitfiddler Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Hello 5Thumbs~ Welcome to the HOC. You might have trouble with the secret handshake with so many thumbs, but no worries, your great looking blonde H-535 should get you in with no problems! Since most Heritages with Schaller or HRW pickups have 4 adjustment screws, your's probably has Seymour Duncans (either 59's or Seth Lovers). The only true way to find that out is to pull them and look at the bottoms. You might check the interior label in your 535's F-hole. Sometimes the guys from Parsons St. put the pickup type on that if it was a custom or dealer special order. I hope that helps.
Gitfiddler Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Southpaw and I posted at the same time, but he was faster on the draw!
SouthpawGuy Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Southpaw and I posted at the same time, but he was faster on the draw! In those old cowboy movies the lefty gunslinger was always fast on the draw !
5thumbs Posted May 11, 2009 Author Posted May 11, 2009 Thanks guys for the quick replies! I will pull the pickups and find out for sure which Duncans they are the next time I change strings. Tim
Gitfiddler Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 In those old cowboy movies the lefty gunslinger was always fast on the draw ! Well that sucks even more...since I'm ALSO a lefty!

SouthpawGuy Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Well that sucks even more...since I'm ALSO a lefty! A lefty playing righty ? Interesting, very interesting. I wonder how many other HOC members have left the darkside ?
High Flying Bird Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 In those old cowboy movies the lefty gunslinger was always fast on the draw ! Back shooter!
Dick Seacup Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Back shooter! Oddly, I thought of "The Gunfighter" with Gregory Peck. Which, by the way, I happen to think is a pretty good movie with a decent message.
smurph1 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Congrats on the beeeyooootiiiifuuuullll 535, 5 thumbs..I just got my first Heritage in February..Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine..that natural kicks a##..My P-bass is a natural Ash body, and I love the look..As well as the tone..
Rude Dog Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 A lefty playing righty ? Interesting, very interesting. I wonder how many other HOC members have left the darkside ? Here's another one I never played lefty; so (sorry, that smiley is irrelevant but had to throw it in there)
SouthpawGuy Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Here's another one I never played lefty; so (sorry, that smiley is irrelevant but had to throw it in there) In a way I'm lucky that I play lefty. My GAS is bad enough as it is and I can only imagine how much worse it would be if I played right handed. There are roughly 15,000 righty electric guitars on Ebay at any given time. I'd be totally fubared.
yoslate Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Great looking gritar, 'thumbs, and welcome to the family! By the way, terrific screen name! We'll probably find out it's hilariously ironic! (Anybody remember Thumbs Carlisle?)
shook494 Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Sweet looking guitar you have there. Welcome to the HOC.
