Nash535 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Hello! I just bought a 2008 535 from a guy over on TGP for $1200. The guitar is supposed to be in near mint condition with SD '59's. Do you think I got a decent deal on this? Thanks! I will post pics once I get the guitar! I am really looking forward to it! CJS
mars_hall Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Assuming the guitar is in decent condition, I would say you did well for yourself

Nash535 Posted May 12, 2009 Author Posted May 12, 2009 Thanks. It is in Almond Burst which looks amazing from online photos! This guy needed to sell it to pay for an amp. I just lucked out. I am thinking about putting Seth lover's in it, any thoughts or other recommendations? Thanks!
brentrocks Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Very nice! That would sell for $2000+ new, so i say you did good cant wait to see it

I would say you got a great deal there, don't forget though ....
golferwave Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Sounds like a great deal you got there. A mint condition 535 is certainly worth what you paid. Several of the members here have said they like the SD 59's in hollowbodies. Welcome to the club and enjoy your new guitar!
emilio Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 That is a very good price for a 2008 model. Give the SD 59s a chance before you go changing them. At any rate, enjoy your new guitar and welcome.
SouthpawGuy Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I have '59s in my 535 and 575 and I'm in no hurry to change those puppies any time soon.
t0aj15 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I have '59s in my 535 and 575 and I'm in no hurry to change those puppies any time soon. Ditto, I had the Schallers in my 535 replaced with SD 59's and I'm quite happy with them.
fxdx99 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Oh yeh, you got a good deal - that's a good price. Sure, give the 59s a try. They work well in semis and you may really like them. Personally, swapping out for Seth's is the first thing I'd do... but ya gotta try em both in the same guitar to hear for yourself.
Nash535 Posted May 12, 2009 Author Posted May 12, 2009 Thanks for all of the input. I will try the '59's out for awhile. I heard they have a bit more bite to them on this guitar. I will be playing through a a Tone King Metropolitan and a Matchless Spitfire. I can't wait! I will update with pics when it arrrives. CJS
smurph1 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Sounds like you got a good deal...welome to the club..Once you go Heritage, you will never go back...

CJS How about some pics and a tone report of those amps with the 535 ? Amps can be gassy too.
