zookroo1 Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Just curious to see if Heritage makes any 12 string models or has in the past. I haven't ever seen one if they are out there.
High Flying Bird Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Just curious to see if Heritage makes any 12 string models or has in the past. I haven't ever seen one if they are out there. I would love to see them make a custom order 535-12 for somebody. They could route out the headstock the way Rickenbacker does it. That would be sweet!
jaywolfe Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Just curious to see if Heritage makes any 12 string models or has in the past. I haven't ever seen one if they are out there. They've made a few. Steve Fjestad, who publishes the Blue Book(s) of guitar values, had a matching pair made about 12 years back, for his collection. We had them make him a pair of Dark Cherry Burst H157's in 6 & 12 strings versions, with consecutive serial numbers. I'll see if he has any pics to send me to post here- if he will. They have killer tops & came out super fine. Bruce Bloethner used to have a H535-12. I'll see if he still has it. They're quite rare. When ordering one made, we HAVE to be really specific with hardware, neck dimensions, nut, bridge, tuners, etc. Some careful measuring's involved as they don't make them normally, and we have to be VERY specific if we want a good one. Doc3 Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Here is Dan Peek working on a 12-string acoustic. Dan liked Rickenbacker's:
Houston535 Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 The green one was in GC. I went to look at it and it was pretty nice. Just wasn't for me. It sold about three weeks later.
ledzef Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Once saw a blond 535 12 string on ebay. Believe it was made around 91 or 92, that's about the only 12 model I've seen besides the one posted above.
DetroitBlues Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 The green one is the only one I've ever seen for sale.
HANGAR18 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 I don't suppose Heritage has ever tried to make a doubleneck, have they? And if they did, I wonder what model it would be based on. That would count as a 12 string, right?
HeinsSite Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 I have a Heritage 12 string 445. Great guitar. Not sure why they did not make more??? Had it for quite a while, they made it for me when we lived in Kalamazoo.
