skydog52 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Just wanted to ask HOCs what the price of a 2003 Sweet 16 should sell for? I am looking at the one on ebay and just want to get an idea on it. It's a beauty. Does anybody have opinion on Sweet 16 for use in jazz setting? Thanks
mars_hall Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I can't answer your specific question, but I played a '97 Sweet 16 ASB at the GC in Indy today. It was in decent condition and kept high up on the top row of the wall. This is the first time I have seen an Heritage there, but to be honest I don't go there often. The price was $2195
Kuz Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I have a Sweet 16 that is sold (awaiting payment and hand delivery). I it is band new mint condition and I sold it for a ridiculously low $2500. The Sweet 16 is an incredible guitar for jazz. IMHO, the $3000 for the blue one on e-bay (if it is in mint condition) is a great price. Remember guys these are $4500-5000 new. I would also like to offer a plug for my Golden Eagle which is brand new mint never played condition for even a more stupid ridiculous price of $2500 (these are $5000 new, I am the first owner) Remember that Heritage carved it's name on archtops, unfortunately I was born to play the blues. Golden Eagle Blond with Premium wood and transparent natural blond finish upgrades.
Thundersteel Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Remember that Heritage carved it's name on archtops, unfortunately I was born to play the blues. I feel the same way. I've used to own two H575s, but I play blues and rock, so I sold them.
Gitfiddler Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Kuz~ I cannot believe no one has snatched up your Golden Eagle yet!! I'm sure there's lots of droolin' goin on for it, however. As far as Sweet 16's go, they are great for playing jazz. The 16" bout is very comfortable, sitting or standing, no matter what your body type. The pricing depends on the condition of the instrument and the seller's motivation to move it. I'd say a good condition Sweetie should go for between $2,750 - $3,900. Kuz' 16 was an exceptional beauty that could have hit higher numbers if the economy wasn't in the tank.
skydog52 Posted May 31, 2009 Author Posted May 31, 2009 Thanks for input from all. I have messages sent to seller but getting no response. Makes me wonder We will see what happens.
Steiner Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 This one has been on the radar for some time. $2500, NY http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/msg/1186342170.html

A lot of modification there, I'd ask a lot of questions. Good Luck.

Good Luck. Good eye! I saw the tailpiece and missed the volume + tone knobs. Aren't the Sweet 16 X-braced precluding the installation of two pickups?
LaVonne Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I bought my 2004 natural finish with matching pickguard Sweet 16 last summer. It's in near mint condition. I paid $3,000 which IMHO was a reasonable price. I bought it from J. Hale Music. It was a consignment guitar and Jeff included a setup.
