zookroo1 Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 I was wondering if there are any guitarists for popular bands that play Heritage guitars? I see tons of G's and Fenders and a few other assorted names, but I've yet to notice a Heritage. I haven't really been all that aware of Heritage before the last year or so, so maybe I've seen some and just didn't know it. If anyone knows who plays Heritage guitars, it's this forum!
Dandownunder Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Don't know if you guys have heard of them over there, they are pretty big in Australia, But Daniel Johns of 'Silverchair' has been spotted playing heritage.
TheRecordFable Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 I dig Silverchair from Frogstomp on killer group. That makes feel good Johns knows a fine instrument when he sees one.
barrymclark Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 of course we have Alex Skolnick of Testament Beat me to it.
Steiner Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 There's Roy from the Hee-Haw Gang! Derek St. Holmes from Uncle Theodore's band - or is he from Spinal Tap?
Kuz Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Roy Clark (don't laugh, he could blow away ANYONE on guitar), Kenny Burrell (does it get better on Jazz hollowbody), Gary Moore (does anyone play over-the-top distorted blues better), Rick Derringer, and yes a guitar was even made for Ted Nugent.
ronalr Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 There's Roy from the Hee-Haw Gang! Derek St. Holmes from Uncle Theodore's band - or is he from Spinal Tap? I see Derek every year at the PRS Experience...he actually works for PRS and is an endorser and is in the Paul Reed Smith Band when he is not playing with Ted. They always play the Nugent hits that Derek sang lead on... Nice guy..takes his time to talk to everyone and have pictures (of course he is paid to do it)...will see him this Sept...gonna ask him about Heritage
zookroo1 Posted June 6, 2009 Author Posted June 6, 2009 Cool stuff. That being said, we should start a band with a couple of Heritage playing guitarists and rock the world! (note to self: get a Heritage and learn how to play a lot better. Do it quickly.)

I'm in zookroo1 ..your in Florida..I'm in Maryland..lets meet and practice in Myrtle Beach ..that's about half way....and should be plenty of places to play there All we need is a drummer and bass player...can you sing? ...or do we need to add a 5th Beatle
Jazzpunk Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Cool stuff. That being said, we should start a band with a couple of Heritage playing guitarists and rock the world! (note to self: get a Heritage and learn how to play a lot better. Do it quickly.) No Heritage?! Sorry but you're on roadie detail for now! Mimi Fox and Kenny Burrell are my favorite Heritage endorsers. I was sold on the 575 after hearing Mimi work her magic on one!
fxdx99 Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Unless in NY, probably haven't heard Alison. Talented and advocate of Heritage guits... think it's a prospect in the first clip and her 170 (what a nice one!) in the 2nd.
yoslate Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Best friend just returned from The New Orleans Jazz and Blues Festival, where he took about 300 photos. We were scrolling through his stuff the other night, when I saw "The Headstock." No good shots with the whole guitar, but Charmane Neville's guitar player was spankin' a big, beautiful Eagle!
111518 Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Soul/Jazz Guitarist Rodney Jones, whom I know from the CD "Soul Manifesto," which features a sax favorite, Maceo Parker, of James Brown and JB Horns. Here's a clip of Jones playing a Heritage thinline with block inlays.
