JeffB Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Anyone have two or more of a particular Heritage model? Why? Only reason I ask is I found another 150 that I like. Plays, looks and sounds great. I like it a lot. Just trying to figure out why I should get it when I already have one I cant put down. Dont want guitars just for the sake of having them. It has schaller p/ups mine has Seths. I dont think that is enough difference to justify the purchase. Id probably put Seths in it anyway. I was looking for a 535 or something different to a 150. This just popped up. So, why do you own two of the same?
Kuz Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Tonal reasons. 150 GT with p90s 150 GT with humbuckers 150 "Greeny" with Throbak Peter Green pickups
Thundersteel Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 150 w/Lollar P90s 150LW with Seths FWIW, the LW may be going bye-bye after I get my Hamer Artist Custom next month.
Spectrum13 Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Only reason I ask is I found another 150 that I like. Bet you could find hundreds of 150 you would like I dont think that is enough difference to justify the purchase. Correct I was looking for a 535 or something different to a 150. Sounds like a plan! So, why do you own two of the same? A P90 guitar and a Seth Lover equiped are not the same. I have two Strats keep one minty in the case as an investment Eb tuned so I can play Jimi and Stevie once a month. The other gets played.
Steiner Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Eagle Classic W/ HRWs & CNB Golden Eagle W/ HRWs & Natural Hell, I don't know; sometimes I feel all natural, sometimes I feel like a nut, er, bursting out! Some things just cannot be explained. Bottom line is I got the two of then for less than I planned to spend on an L5 - pure serendipity!
Thundersteel Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 So, why do you own two of the same? I suppose another response might be "Why not?"
CJTopes Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Why own two of the same guitars, either tonal reasons, Action or feel reasons, or to have an identical backup in case you break a string or have some form of malfunction. Or just because! Thundersteel, Give me a heads up when you put your 150LW up for sale..........
TalismanRich Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Anyone have two or more of a particular Heritage model? Why? Because we CAN???????

JeffB Posted June 26, 2009 Author Posted June 26, 2009 Tonal reasons. I suppose another response might be "Why not?" Because we CAN??????? Yeah...thats it.....tonal reasons Just before I went to sleep the thoughts "why not" and "because I can" swirled around and found some anchor point in my mind. Cool, sorted I thought. Ill pick it up today. Woke up, injected coffee. Nah. Not gonna happen. All great answers I can use for future reference though Thanks
fxdx99 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Well this is just plain weird... On the opposite side of the time zone and heading to bed w/the same thought as you had last night... ready to make a buy tomorrow on a model of a guitar that I already have (not a Heritaeg, but a KILLER guitar...). Wonder if I'll change my mind after coffee in the a.m.?... would be breaking my new years resolution, tho. eh, will sleep on it and see what happens.

Outcome mightve been different if I had the real thing.
Millennium Maestro Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 UH YEAAAAHHH!! I like to have the same sound with different tunings, try to keep my rigs consistant. My lead player has different guitars, and every time we change tunings... one is louder, one is cleaner, one is muddier.....the band dynamics are always changing....sound men also hate us because we are way too loud. Rock on Guys!! M.M.

tulk1 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I have two Millies which are completely different beasts. The SAE is very much the semi-hollow(solid). Has the lowly Schallers. Is an extremely versatile machine. Can get down and dirty with the solid bodies. Or get very woody sounding with the semi's. The NFH is a very different beast. Not nearly as versatile as the SAE. Is more solid body in nature, probably due to no F-Holes. It has HRW's, which I'm finding to be a bit hot, especially for the neck pup. Got to be very careful on where the amp bass knob is set when using this guitar.
Thundersteel Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Thundersteel, Give me a heads up when you put your 150LW up for sale.......... I'll be bringing it to PSP II, if you want to take a gander at it more closely. Ed-Zackery I think I met him once...
CJTopes Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I'll be bringing it to PSP II, if you want to take a gander at it more closely. I'd love to,, But if I still have a job I'll be in training on the 31st. If I dont have a job , buying a guitar is a mute point!
barrymclark Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I might have some of the same model but with some variants to it. For instance, I could see me ordering (If I could afford it), say, a 150 with the standard humbuckers and another with the P90's. Or... something like that. Maybe have one with an Ebony fingerboard. They'd be the same enough where I could use one as a back up for the other, but different enough where I can switch to another guitar for a similar yet different tone. That has always been my approach. Take for instance, I have a Gretsch Nashville. Sealed body, TV Jones Magnatrons for pickups. Ebony fretboard. I would love to get the Electromatic G5122 as a backup as it has the rosewood fingerboard, f-holes and I would load it with some other model pickup. Either that or a nice Country Gent... but my wallet prefer's the electromatic. haha. That is why I don't have an H550. That or the country gent is likely out of my range for sometime.
snacker Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 i own two H576s - the first one i bought and thought it was the perfect guitar for me if it only had.......ebony FB, bigsby, seth lovers, different finish & inlay etc. - i ended up ordering a custom one to my spec but have yet to part with the original one - it'll be listed here at some point

One of the things I have always dug about the sealed bodies is that they have a good 'in-between' sound.
tulk1 Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Hey Barry, thanks. That NFH is indeed a very special guitar. Called Ren the other day and mentioned the NFH .. and he remembered the guitar. Somewhere there is a picture of it hanging in the shop - or was. Going to look for it at the tour. But yeah, baby!! They did a fantastic job on the fit and finish of that guitar. I think the DC NFH should be a listed option. Ren mentioned it wasn't the first one they'd done like that (grrrr), but it's got to be the neatest looking. Oh, and sounds dandy, too.

Definitely makes me want one. Now... if only my wallet would just work with me a bit on this....
