I picked up this beasty about two weeks ago, I can't put it down, it is just an awesome guitar. It was manufactured in 1999 and is some variation of H150 (I assume). I did e-mail heritage with the serial number but I have not heard back so I am hoping someone here can give me a few details regarding this super guitar.

Thanks

Kevin

Certainly looks like some variety of 150. If you take the access panel off behind the volume/tone knobs their will be a sticker with model code and colour code. The pickups are not standard schallers as they only have the one adjustment screw each side. Interesting that the headstock is coloured too...both mine are black.

I'm only new to this too so could be wrong, but I'm sure someone will say so.

Anyway, whatever it is, its a damn nice looking guitar.

Welcome to the club...within 3 months I bought my second H and I lasted longer than most it seems...they really get under your skin.

Welcome Kevin!

very nice 150 there! does it have a # above the serial number? 1-500? if so it is a H 150 Deluxe limited ed. it should have a belly cut too.

Marvelous top! Great "vintage" color, too! That's a very, very nice 150! Welcome to the fold, Kevin.

Wow...that's nice. I bet that pick guard isn' stock.

Neither is that TRC. Very nice looking guitar.

Congrats, Kevin - that is an awesome 150. Yeh, what dandownunder said - be interesting to see what the cavity cover says. Heritage often makes special order and could have made this to a customer's specs. The nut material looks different from stock as well.

Yikes, awesome top. G-style TRC just doesn't look right on that headstock, but somebody put some effort into it! Congrats!

Wow, thanks for all the nice comments.

I was sure the pickguard wasn't original, according to the sales guy the pickups are 57 Classics which I will verify when I clean the guitar. The neck bezel is cracked on the neck side and needs to be reparied or replaced. I was pretty sure that was not the original nut,but it is cut really well and the strings don't seem to bind at all. I wasn't sure about the truss rod cover.

I do hope he didn't drill a whole bunch of extra holes in this guitar trying to make it look like a Gibson LP, he sure must have wanted a Les Paul as he tried hard to make this look like one. I did e-mail Heritage with a query about this beasty and the whether you can get replacement parts but I haven't heard from them.

I am thrilled with this guitar and while I am a Gibson guy, I am really feeling that my next guitar could be another Heritage. The only problem is the nearest stores that carry them are at least a days drive away!!

Thanks

Kevin

Definitely Heritage!!! It's kinda like a badge. ;)

Gibs can and has made very good guitars. What we like about our Heritages is that, for the most part, they seem to have that same vibe that made the LP such a mainstay. And curiously, seems to be missing from most production Gibs. Bottom line, you gotta go with what does it for you, whether it be G or H. But ... c'mon. Only a days drive? For a guitar? Road Trip!!!! :)

Welcome to the HOC, Firebrand!

That is one beautiful 150 you got there!!

If you ever want to replace the truss rod cover, here is a great site. They carry the Heritage blank, and will engrave (almost) whatever you want on it. :)

Guess what? Your not a Gibby guy anymore. You have found the truth and it has set you free from mass production!

Hi Guys

I took off the control cover plate and it is marked as an H150CM in Vintage Sunburts. Funky little scroll label on the inside too!

Gitfiddler posted a link for replacement TRC's, does anybody know where I can get a correct pickguard?

Thanks

Kevin
