pegleg32 Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I have always been curious as to the correct way to attach the strings to the stopbar tailpiece. I have done it both ways, through the back to front and then over the bridge, and through the front to the back, then OVER the stopbar to the bridge. I have seen others do it both ways. Decided to see what I could find on it and came across this nice little clip on Utube. I liked the way he tied off his stings on the tuning peg. Thought I would post it in case there are others with a similar question.
tulk1 Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Seems to me there are lot of "best way"s to string up a guitar. For me, if the strings don't come out of the tuning peg and it stays in tune, it's strung properly.
pegleg32 Posted August 4, 2009 Author Posted August 4, 2009 I think that would be a "sound" theory all right!!
Neanderthal Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I've done it a number of ways, but the common denominator: I HATE CHANGING STRINGS!!!
brentrocks Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I've done it a number of ways, but the common denominator:I HATE CHANGING STRINGS!!! i love changing strings...it gets me downstairs, away from the wife....LOL
DCA Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Thank you for posting that. I've been a milquetoast "twice around, then through the eye" kinda guy since I started playing. That looks like a very efficient technique that will allow the strings to settle quickly. Good stuff!
