smurph1 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 The nut slots on the B and high E strings on my 314 ce are too low..Mainly in the summer, the strings mute out on the frets..In the winter, when the action is higher it seems ok..Should I try to replace the nut? I won't try to do it myself, but I was wondering what you all think about nut materials..Bone? Tusq,? Graphite? I'm leaning towards bone, it seems like it might really allow the strings to sing..I apologize if this has been covered before..
GuitArtMan Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I'd say that sounds more like a seasonal trus rod adjustment and/or a humidifier/de-humidifier.
