Mikenov Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I just got the 535 back. I pulled the 59s out of it and had the Alnico Pro IIs installed. I dug those a bit more. They were allot like the 59s just more of it. And the neck pickup is a little rounder which I like too. Anyway, I dug them in the Ibanez and I like them better in the Heritage which just plays better and has the Tone Pros. That is a sweet guitar I tell you.
Kuz Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Cool Mike! Maybe next year we jam with the semi-bodies? Enjoy. I have finally got some new pups for my GT 150 humbucker.... Peter Florence Voodoo Custom 60s. I got the pickups free but it took almost 3 months, it's a long story. Anyhow not trying to derail, enjoy. "Last dance with Mary Jane. One more chance to........"
High Flying Bird Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I just got the 535 back. I pulled the 59s out of it ...... That is a sweet guitar I tell you. Two things. The 59's weren't right for that guitar. That is a sweet guitar I tell you. No chit!
tulk1 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Gotta love it when you find that right combo of pups for the stick. Excellent! I had '59s in my 157. Didn't really care for them so I sold the guitar. Maybe I just should have taken your approach, Mike.
Mikenov Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 I am a constant tinkerer.. I will say this, they have allot of the good properties of seth in terms of tone only they are more aggresive. They are also Wax potted so they don't do the that squelling thing but they will feedback with distortion if you want them too. That is in a good way!
