number1armadillo Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Hi to all, I recently found your forum since I've decided to purchase a Heritage guitar. I'm looking for any opinions for the H535 (with the 59 Duncans) or a a Prospect Stansard. If it helps your thoughts for me, heres what I play for electric's at present: Gretsch Tenesee Rose w/ TV Jones P/U, Fender Tele 62 RI w/ Vintage Noiseless & Merle Haggard 4 way swwitching, Custom Tele Thinline w/ bigsby and Duncan P-Rails. I play mostly through a Fender Twin Reverb. I mainly play Rythem in a band - Country/ southern & classic rock, blues. When playing alone I play Chet. My greatest regret in sold past guitars was a Gretsch Nashville JR. Thanks for any pro's / con's, input! Jon
golferwave Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Hi Jon, Welcome to the HOC! Both of the models you mentioned are great. A lot of the members here have mentioned that the 535 sounds really good with the Duncan 59's and the solid bodies with the Seth Lovers. I know you'll get many opinions to consider. The 535 is a fabulous model and you can't go wrong with it. Let us know what you decide.
tulk1 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Jon, welcome to the HoC. Having just acquired my first Prospect I'm going to offer that you can't go wrong with that guitar. It's got a smaller profile than the 535, making it hang on the neck a bit easier. But it has all the umph you'd expect from a semi-hollow. Plus, it's got a great country vibe to it. Then again, I don't think you can wrong with either one, as I have a 535 as well. Plus a couple of others. No opinion on the pups as my Prospect and 535 have stock Schallers.
High Flying Bird Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 A 535 styled guitar is a very nice guitar to have around. I wouldn't like the 59s as I think they loose your highs but a lot of people like them. Schallers, Seths or HRWs would be my choice of pickup. Since you like Gretsch so much why don't you be a man about it and buy a 535 with a bigsby on it?
