This guitar hung around on TGP for a long while--that's where I got it.  I'll report back after I've had more time to work with it in various playing situations.

Hi John, that's a sweet looking guitar.

It looks like a real players guitar, not too flashy, very solid and business like if you know what I mean.

However threads like this don't really help my GAS problem  :-

Had one of those Specials a long time ago cod65.  Beautiful!  Didn't need a Bigsby, though; all you had to do was let go of the neck and sway left and right.  Couldn't be very physical at all with that guitar!  Not a good design, from that standpoint.

yeah, I bet taking it on a tour of Vietnam didn't help that one much either! Nice lookin wood tho. Is that mahogany ?

Hey Cod65, I took my two Harmony semi-hollows to Viet Nam & Thailand when I was a wanna-be child star for the USO back in 68 and 69!!

Other than the crazy humidy and monsoon rain, they came back...um OK...considering they were really cheap gits.

 

Where were you stationed?

me? no, not MY tour- the guy in the auction I referenced mentioned HIS tour. Sorry for confusion. At the time I was 'stationed' at Meadowcrest Elementary School in E. Providence R.I.  ;)
