Plucked around on the pretty decent selection of Heritage guitars they had there while I was waiting for them to check out my Grosh.

T'was my first time playing many different models of Heritage guitars. I'd only ever played the H-150CM Ultra.

Anyone who hasn't been should go if it's within reasonable driving distance for you!

Welcome aboard. I make a trip up to Elderly a few times

a year. Bought a few and they sold a few for me. That is

a great place to go, lots of guitar "candy" to play with.

Welcome to the HOC! I've bought many guitars from Elderly including my first new Heritage H-150 in 1996. They're good and friendly people.

Hey Herigrosh - you have your radar set to the correct company; welcome aboard!

Your sale thread says your from AA area. Last time I was in Herb David they had 2 or 3 Heritages. You should drop by there and czech them out. They had a 150 with the friendliest action I've ever played.

Oops, a scan of their website shows nothing. Perhaps a preliminary call may be in order.

I live just north of Ann Arbor. I purchased a economical acoustic from Herb David about

a month ago for my daughter. They had a few Heritages at the time. The told me that had a few on order.

About six months ago they had a 23rd anniversary H-535 but that sold pretty quick.

Say Dog - is your 157 still up in Brighton? We might additionally send him up there.

I have to stay out of that place!

Alicia has a few guitars from there, including a beautiful archtop made by a MI luthier named Paul Newson. I found their prices to be fair, not great, but not excessive.

Heritage and Grosh? Yes. You've got good taste in guitars. :coffee2:

I spent a lot of time at Herb's when I was at U of M in the 80s. I never bought a guitar there, but I did buy a lot of classical guitar music!!

The restaurant next door, Seva, is superb as well.

No. I had major buyer remorse and it's back where it belongs, in the fold.

Welcome, Herigrosh!

I bought my first "good quality" guitar from Elderly in 1990 ('89 LP Custom, which I still have). I also have an '02 SG Supreme I bought from them a number of years ago. I've bought other guitars from them as well, but they are long gone.

Never had the pleasure to visit, but Elderly was the first mailorder company (remember those?) I really used. They had the coolest catalogues, a different one for each of their lines (acoustics, electrics, music, etc.). Guess those are no more but I still have their site on my Favorites list.

Herb David Guitar Studio may just be the worst guitar store I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I'd bought Reverends off of them before but never again.

Worst, most unfriendly horrible staff you will ever meet.

Thanks! Yeah, the Grosh is great but I currently have it up for trade on the classified pages here!

I traded this Heritage...

Both are amazing guitars, that Heritage was something special though and I miss having one. I'd say the trade was in my favor monetarily but the Heritage was the first LP style guitar I'd ever owned and I didn't give myself proper time to bond with it. After playing a TON of other Heritage AND Gibson guitars I haven't played one yet that I liked as much as that Heritage.

I can't say much about the folks who work there these days, but the vibe was always weird back when I used to go in there. And the prices were almost list. I bought most of my gear at Al Nalli or Arnoldt Williams (in Canton) back then. I guess both stores are now gone.
