brentrocks
OMG!!! It was worth the wait!!! The H 357 arrived today free from harm. I was very surprised to find in the case 2 original faxes from Heritage giving an overview of the situation w/ G over the H 357 design and the whole G lawsuit crap. Original Heritage case, packed VERY WELL! First, I put the original Schaller tailpiece and bridge back on, along w/ a new set of 10s. While i had the strings off, I gave the fretboard a wipedown w. some lemon oil. Got it all strung and stretched......it was the moment of truth.....plugged it into the Rivera....... F*** YEAH! I tell you what....the tone of this guitar is none like any other Heritage i have ever played! I'm trying to figure out wether its because it is the neck-thru design...or the solid mohagany? It has the richest, warmest tone i have ever heard!!! Not very bright at all. Of course, i think the Schaller pups are a good part of the reason too. They are not super hot, kinda remind me of HRWs...humm? There was a lil tarnish on the frets, so i polished them w. some 0000 steel wool. The jack was a little scratchy, i think it was just dirty....i plug/pulled the cable out 5-7 times real fast and it got better...need to take a piece of sandpaper and roll it up like a ciggarette, stick it up there and clean it up. It weighs about 8.5 lbs...not really that neck heavy...comfortable to play. the neck it straight as an arrow, action is low (although i might raise the bass side of the bridge a bit, i'm getting a lil E/A/D buzz) OH, yeah...pics...well, ok...... thanks Bruce...i love it!!! slider313
Nice bird!! Looks like a dark piece of rosewood on that neck. I happen to like the dots on a Firebird more than the trap inlay. My G brand is a Firebird V with traps and the only FB III they make is the Custom Shop Historic which is very expensive and has the vibrola tailpiece, which makes it tough to keep it in tune. Congrats on your new blackbird.

AnH555
YEAH. Looks good in black, especially since it's in such good condition. You should walk into the factory with that strapped up, just to see what they say. Man, you've had a few nice Heritages if I recall. 137, a few 170's, the Roy, a green 157, etc., etc. It's enough to give a guy GAS! Congrats - looks like it's a fun guitar to play. tulk1
Brent, so was the guitar all tired out from walking to your house? Geez, that took a long time. I like how it looks like it's just taking a break leaning up against the tree. Very cool shot. Agreed with the comments that the dots look great on that guitar; seems to work for the style. Wonder if the boys ever made a Bass version of that guitar? That would be uber cool. Just hang on to it so we all get a spank at PSPIII, m'k? brentrocks
Here are copies of the 2 letters that Bruce included w/ the H 357. they are on fax paper and probably came from a dealer that Bruce had sales with. They are an interesting read and a nice piece of Heritage History.....

Steiner
Fun read about the trials and tribulations of being in business; Thanks Brentrocks! When do you officially become the Historian for Heritage Inc? It appears you have already rested the entire line against "the tree" at one point or another. Are you finished or will you eventually corner the market?
