paul144 Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 wow I'd love to bust out some Johnny Winter riffs on that! Congratulations!
fxdx99 Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Brent, congratulations on the H357 - looks to be in wonderful condition and the tone you describe makes it sound like a great player. And a nice bit of history with the letters as well. A successful end to a long and diligent hunt with the outcome well deserving to someone who truly appreciates that work of art.
Millennium Maestro Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 I hope you enjoy your new aquisition as much as I enjoy the guitar you sent my way making room for you new guitar!!. Someday you will be a genuine holding member of the Mille Mob... for now you will have to settle for being in the "Fanning the Firebird Flames club". Enjoy!! M.M.
brentrocks Posted August 27, 2009 Author Posted August 27, 2009 When do you officially become the Historian for Heritage Inc? LOL...Bruce told me that there were some folks that were in the works to write and publish a book on Heritage....i forgot the names, Jay Wolfe would know who i'm talking about, actually i think Bruce said Jay was one of them, maybe? I played the 357 quite a bit tonight, comparing the tone to the Gary Moore and the Korina V and the 555. The 357 is by far the least bright in tone, darker. I'm beginning to wonder what a hotter set of pups in the 357 would sound like? Although the Schallers are pretty hot because harmonics and pinch harmonics are very easily struck on the Bird. I raised the bass side of the bridge a sqosh tonight...that eliminated a lot of E/A/D buzz. I am definately enjoying it
brentrocks Posted August 27, 2009 Author Posted August 27, 2009 I went down to Heritage this morning to return Vince's sign in sheets from the tour (rained out of work today ) Decided to take along the 357 to have Marv check it our, figured he hadnt see one in a while. Marv told me that he made about 30 of the H 357s...and that a lot of them went to Germany! Marv built the bodies and then the guitars found their way through the rest of the shop. Was pleasently surprised to see JP down there too, up from Alabama! All the boys were down there...it was a great photo opp!!! since JP was there too..i figured it would be a good time for this.... ...never a dull moment at 225 Parsons Street!
pegleg32 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Thats a really cool picture Brent!! Neat to see all of those guys although I can only connect a couple of names to the faces. How sweet is it when you can buy a vintage guitar and then go share it with the guys that made it. Wowzer.

Bloethner Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Brent, Looks like my old 357 caused a small riot. Here's a couple more. Later, Bruce
Millennium Maestro Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Brent, Did you just get the ol' guy's to handsign your heritage tag on your 357? Boy your a slick man... Congrats A very nice touch!!! M.M.
Bloethner Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Fun read about the trials and tribulations of being in business; Thanks Brentrocks! When do you officially become the Historian for Heritage Inc? It appears you have already rested the entire line against "the tree" at one point or another. Are you finished or will you eventually corner the market? the Historian for Heritage Inc ? my vote goes to Jay Wolfe
brentrocks Posted August 27, 2009 Author Posted August 27, 2009 the Historian for Heritage Inc ? my vote goes to Jay Wolfe i think you are right Bruce....he has been w. Heritage from the very beginning
brentrocks Posted August 28, 2009 Author Posted August 28, 2009 Brent,Here's a couple more you certainly have a nice collection Bruce!!!
fxdx99 Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Nice nice pics there Bruce! What are the models in the first pic... and are those phat cats in most of 'em? Brent - excellent pic of the kehy Heritage consituents. Is Bill back involved in Heritage? Thought he'd sold his partnership to Vince? At any rate, excellent photo and thanks for posting that!
brentrocks Posted August 29, 2009 Author Posted August 29, 2009 Dammm...i am so glad i got it...i am all smile ear-to-ear when i play it. I would like to hear some hotter pups in it though....maybe i'll try that in a few months?
Scooter Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 This WHOLE experience you've shared with us has been very, very cool, Brent. Bringing it to the guys and then having them sign it was the frosting, not to mention you get to play the thing whenever you want! Another classic thread.

Brent - excellent pic of the kehy Heritage consituents. Is Bill back involved in Heritage? Thought he'd sold his partnership to Vince? At any rate, excellent photo and thanks for posting that! Yes, He did sell his share to Vince. And that is still the case as far as I know. But I know that Bill come in everyday and is still an employee. I think he just traded/sold off the responsibilities of ownership and business manager to Vince. Vince is the man who gives out quotes, checks prices, represents Heritage at NAMM, and basically the public relations & business end of Heritage. Every time I call, Bill is the one answer the phone (and usually handing it over to Ren or Vince) and is always super friendly. I really like Bill!
brentrocks Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 Fuuuuuuuu....nice, Brent! Thanks man!!

Bill helped me find my Millie in the repair rack at PSPII. I honestly think he was as excited as I was at finding it fixed and ready to go. He was a'giglin' right along with me. Nice guy!
