big bob

LOL, I really laughed at that one Bob, I have come so close to ending up in that position a couple of times. With just a few minutes to go on an item and I'm still in the lead - BY A LOT - I'm thinking; Oh $h|t, how am I ever going to explain this!! It has something to do with the eyes being bigger than the stomach I think. Very akin to; if they are going to give it away, well heck, I might as well take it. The good thing in this case is that the price of this one most likely won't break the bank, just give it a little dent, and you don't see too many H-120's. I will be interested to hear what pickups that thing has when you get it.

Well I can't say I wanted to win but at 375.77 I can't complain. I sent an mail to Ren with the serial # and asked if he could look it up and tell me what it went out with. This could be fun..I'm already thinking Bigsby!

Niiiice, Big Bob! Beauty! I've never seen a 120 before or knew of them. Is that like a LP Studio? I'd love to see a master list of all the models Heritage has ever made that are not on their website now. Brent's bird and this 120 of yours have me very curious about this now.

Interesting situation with the ebay win. When the news of it gets out at home maybe it'll kinda' be like a rodeo. You're up next. 2-8 seconds of holding on for dear life. Tossed off harshly and hope you land well enough to get up and run for your life. Maybe a clown will step in and divert attention so you can make it to the other side of the fence. Time will heal the injury if you got one (unless you never made it to the fence). And you won a 120 :) . But then...you have another rodeo next week. Exciting!

So my wife is with her father at the mayo clinic in Rochester, and she sent me an email saying we were invited to one of her colleagues house next Friday and that I should bring my guitar, so I sent her a reply that said sounds great I can bring the guitar I bought last night. her response to my response was ok.. looks like I might just be out of the woods.. at least untill she gets home!

Ok. so my oh shit moment has past and now I'm excited about the new git. I got the tracking# and it won't get here until thursday.. but I'm all set to clean her up. it looks like the pups are correct (I sent an email with the serial# to Ren in hopes of finding out how she left the factory. From the pictures it looks like a three piece maple neck. I'm planning on stripping her down and doing a complete buff out of surface, flitz of all metal pieces Including frets, and oil up the board, if the finish is shot I'm thinking custom, I'm getting pretty good with the nitro.. what do you think for a surface, checkerboard, flames, natural... burst..sea foam green with racing stripes..

This is gonna be cool

How about one of those "Fender" looking 7s on it. I am sure Ren would be pleased.

I have since added a fender looking 5 both in front of and behind the seven, so now lucky seven is lucky 575.

I just put the 445 down. she is old but that neck is F-ing sweet.. hey bird hows that 475 treating you..

The 475 has a thin neck like my 535s. I love it. The cut away is really nice for reaching up into it's skirt for the higher frets.

Lance, I seriously doubt the boys ever kept records that would tell them about each guitar. I wrote Ren when I got my first 157 asking the same thing. He replied that it sure was pretty and hoped I enjoyed the guitar. ;) One of Vince's comments when he joined was that they really had no record system, no filing system, etc. That was one of the things he hoped to implement. But ... you never know. Sometimes they will surprise you with the ones they do remember.

Well, if that second pup, second set of controls and the selector switch are after market, that was one pro-job right there.

Couple of folks on Harmony Central report double pickup H120HC's so I'm betting that's what you have. Am curious about the pickups which appear identical to ones used on the Gibson L-6S Deluxe here. Note the 5-screw pickup rings and no exposed polepieces on black PUP covers. I'll bet Bill Lawrence made them for both. Maybe Ren has a record of that. ;)
