ronalr
Thought I would share this ...sent an email to Heritage asking about the H-575 (pickups and the strap button) I just got and Ren wrote back...here it is "7 yrs, old PU's may be Schaller or Maybe SD's if they have one height adjusting screw on each side of the PU. Schaller has two. Not made with neck area strap button. One can be installed. Suggest head of screw facing peg-head, up from back abour 1" ren 269-385-5721?? ren 269-385-5721" The guys at Heritage are really great taking time to personally answer questions about a used guitar.....I am not sure about what he means when installing the strap button...can anyone explain where he means to put it...maybe a drawing? I will probably have a tech do it though.. don't want to split the wood.
Thundersteel
The screw needs to be put into the heel of the neck, as shown in the left portion of the picture.
yoslate
The screw needs to be put into the heel of the neck, as shown in the left portion of the picture. ron, Thundersteel pulled the pics off of the Heritage website, their recommendations. I'd like to reiterate, that it's a good idea to rub the strap button screw across a candle, filling the threads with candle wax, before running it in. This really does make running the screw down much easier, and helps prevent splitting the wood!
ronalr
Thanks guys...I guess you use a drill with the right bit first? I don't know...may a professional is the way to go
ingeneri
I'd try going without the second strap button first. Check out these Planet Waves ties for acoustics. You stick them on the end of a strap, but they lock and are more secure than the old strings. Wish I had known about this before adding a second button to my Super Eagle. http://store.daddario.com/category/152500?...p;currency_id=

This really does make running the screw down much easier, and helps prevent splitting the wood! When I put a strap pin on the back of my H170, the guys at the factory told me to fill in all the threads on the screw with soap (hard cake soap, not that stuff in a pump bottle) to prevent the wood from splitting... I'd guess candle wax works just as well. I used the soap, and no splitting occurred.
