tulk1 Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Okay, I'm posting about the Prospect, yet again. Thing is, I really like this guitar! It just does it for me. Plus, it's a darned good looking git. So, here we go one more time. I sat in as the lead player for these guys Saturday nite. Hadn't played with them for 2 months, but it all came right back. This is The Longhorn Band. Playing the Prospect. Another angle for the band. And a couple more of the Prospect. Pay no attention to the man behind the guitar.
Thundersteel Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Way to go, Kenny! But that guy playing the Tele looks like he's staring you down!
golferwave Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Way to go, Kenny! But that guy playing the Tele looks like he's staring you down! He's just looking to see where that great tone is coming from! Looks like you had a wonderful time!
FredZepp Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 You're right , that is one nice looking axe ! I can see a day when I "must have" a 535/555/Prospect, and these pics and your comments make the Prospect look like a good choice. Then again , I've seen examples of any of the three that are tempting.... NICE GUITAR>>> looks like you had a good gig....
tulk1 Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 It does look like he's staring me down, doesn't it? Thing is (and I found this to be quite funny), he was looking to me for the correct chord. Sitting in again in 2 weeks. Smokey dive about 40 minutes from here. And the Prospect will be the axe of the day, once again. Right now I'm imagining a custom Prospect, P90 Soapbars, or even HB-sized (for swapping later). Decked out to match the NFH. Mmmmm.
Kuz Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Ah, Kenny, you will use any excuse to just post pics of your guitar (especially the Prospect lately). Oh yea, so what type of music do you guys play? Like nu-metal or alternative? Can't tell what type from the lead singer/bassist?!!!! OK, cool pics!!

Oh yea, so what type of music do you guys play? Like nu-metal or alternative? Can't tell what type from the lead singer/bassist?!!!! OK, cool pics!! It's Death Metal Country!! Couldn't you tell from my set at the picnic? Ya know, Merle, Johnny, those guys. And pics? Well, just following your lead there Big Bear Barry, Vox AC30CC1 w/NeoDog spkr. Very chimey and very heavy. It's actually better with the Fenders and G&Ls than the H's. Well, easier to dial in. But once you get it, any guitar just sings thru these thangs!
Gitfiddler Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I gotsta get me some snakeskin boots like that there bass player is wearing!! Hot damm!
High Flying Bird Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I gotsta get me some snakeskin boots like that there bass player is wearing!! Hot damm! Snakeskin crocs.
High Flying Bird Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 That guitar just sits right on you Tulk.

tulk1 Posted September 8, 2009 Author Posted September 8, 2009 does Brent have one of those for sale Give him time.

Well, easier to dial in. But once you get it, any guitar just sings thru these thangs! Yeah. I have an AC50CP2 which is NOTHING like the AC30. I love it for what I do with the Heritage. Goes from fat and flat jazz sound to nice and gnarly high gain.
Mikenov Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 That P90 Prospect would be an AXE I could get behind. Sounds good. I really dug your Prospect at PSP1.
Mikenov Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Say it three times.. I hate Latency.. I hate latency ... I hate latency ... double post. Would have done triple if it let me!
fxdx99 Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Nice pics - love the gig pics and stories. First pic - ya know you're getting old when the whole band is wearing hearing aids... 2nd pic - my fav - you're 'into the note' and someone round here might say. I'll be danged if I can figure what chord you're playing? 3rd pic - best view of that cool Vox... and best example of why I don't shop at the drummer and 2nd guit shirt store. 4th pic - Mark IV bass amp?... and you forgot your mic stand drinky thing. Where the heck didja put the long neck? Last - standard country turn around lick in C? Another good 'in the moment' shot. Like the idea of a P90 Prospect...
chico Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 I like the fact the bass player is also vocalist. Tough job. The earpieces may be floor monitors--that's the way to go IMO. I made a play for a Prospect just before sugery on ebay, a natural that looked like a real winner. Didn't want to pay what it eventually went for, which was about $1070 IIRC. I can see myself with one of those. Nice views.
TalismanRich Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Good looking shots. So are you going to be filling in for a while or was it a one time shot?
barrymclark Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I'll be danged if I can figure what chord you're playing? Can't tell if his index is fretting a note or not. My guess is.... A6 with no 5.
tulk1 Posted September 9, 2009 Author Posted September 9, 2009 Can't tell if his index is fretting a note or not. My guess is.... A6 with no 5. Brooks and Dunn, Neon Moon, solo, slide from the G to a Bb, forefinger just hasn't hit the board yet. ... I think.
barrymclark Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Brooks and Dunn, Neon Moon, solo, slide from the G to a Bb, forefinger just hasn't hit the board yet. ... I think. ...and I FAIL! haha.
brentrocks Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Give him time. those are great shots Kenny!!! and a very nice Heritage!!! LOL...i do like the concept of a smaller body though. I have never played one...had Pauls in my possession for a while, but it was left handed...maybe i should have re-stung it JIMI STYLE?

They certainly do pack a punch for such a small guitar, I find myself playing it more than the 535 lately, maybe it's the Seths or that it's very comfortable to play ? Thankfully it was spared a "Jimi" !
