Jazzpunk Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Well gentlemen, another wayward Heritage has been rescued! Pics courtesy of seller (amps are not mine!): I've been saving up for an Eagle Classic or Golden Eagle but I just couldn't pass this bad boy up. The 525 is a bit of an enigma for me but I keep finding myself drawn to it. Never had a guitar with P-90's and certainly never had a hollow body of this sort so really not sure what to expect! She'll ship out Monday. Pics and tone report by end of next week (hopefully!).
ledzef Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Enjoy! That is a sharp looking guitar there.
High Flying Bird Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 I have the acoustic version of this guitar and it is just fantastic. You should love this guitar.
Millennium Maestro Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Looks like the perfect instrument for a JazzPunk!!! Enjoy. Guy

yoslate Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Don't own one. Want one! I've played Kuz's, and I'll tell yo what...a cooler, more versatile guitar you will not shoulder. It was really kind of funny, after playing John's 530, 535, 555, and 150, I hoisted the 525, and it seemed to have characteristics of all of his other wonderful guitars in one box. Congrats!
Steiner Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 What an enjoyable, aesthetic treat that should be! Turn it up LOUD and tell us if you ever want to come back to the humbucker side...
big bob Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 congrats, you should love it, and having the input on the side is, in my opinion, far better. now you should start humming the jeopardy song while you repeatedly check the tracking #
111518 Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Jazzpunk! I really like the way that guitar comes together ...great blend from burst to board, a lot of character in the top. Overall, just clean, functional, ready for work. I'm (selfishly) hoping there is one of these in my future, somewhere down the line.

LH575 Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Beauty there. Lollars in there? I figured you'd crack within a week and get a P90 yourself! Congrats!
Kuz Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Beauty there. Lollars in there? I figured you'd crack within a week and get a P90 yourself! Congrats! Yes Lollar p-90s. They are the default go-to p-90s from Heritage. And for GOOD reason, Lollar p-90s are UNMATCHED!

Scooter Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Congrats, Jazzpunk. That's a beautiful guitar. Looking forward to your review.
Jazzpunk Posted September 13, 2009 Author Posted September 13, 2009 Thanks for all the Heritage love fellas! I'm trying to decide on what kind of replacement pickguard to buy (I actually prefer the way she looks sans pickguard but I think the hole will bug me!). The original was black which is fine but I'm thinking a tortoise style pickguard might be really nice with this color burst. Does Heritage even make tortoise style pickguards if I wanted to order one? What do you guys think?
tulk1 Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 I think one of the boy's wooden pgs, in the same color scheme as your guitar would be excellent. If you can get one from them.

Jazzpunk Posted September 13, 2009 Author Posted September 13, 2009 Thanks for the suggestions guys. I believe this is the guitar before it was originally purchased form Wolfe: I like the idea of getting a custom pickguard that matches the finish but I imagine I'd have to send her in to get a proper match. The black pickguard is nothin' fancy but it's a clean look I suppose.
FredZepp Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 That guitar looks really , really nice without a pickguard.... If you have to...is there anyway to do a clear one without looking strange..?
Jazzpunk Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 That guitar looks really , really nice without a pickguard.... If you have to...is there anyway to do a clear one without looking strange..? Agreed. I definitely prefer the 525 without the pickguard. I'll probably leave it off but the drill hole may really bug me (I'm weird like that!). In any event, the seller found the original pickguard so I'm covered either way!

Love this guitar...takes an excellent pic. And a pickguard in same finish might be interesting also....
smurph1 Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 IMHO, anything with a P-90 in it is the bomb!!Especially if they are Lollars!!Enjoy!!
mark555 Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 is the 525 semi solid or hollow? Fabulous looking guitar though.
