guitars for the troops

Hey all,

I have 3 guitars that I don't really play that I don't want to bother selling. 2 Epis, 1 Squier.

I have seen outfits that take instruments and put them into the hands of soldiers. Does anyone know who the most legit outfit is? How do I donate a guitar and be 100% sure that one of the troops gets it in his or her hands?

Has anyone done this?

You might check this site:

http://www.guitarsforvets.org/

Over at The Gear Page, a regular member called Mojocaster (Mojocaster.com) lists that organization as part of his signature. It looks like a legit organization or at least a well intended way of getting gitfiddles into the hands of vets.

If they are a non-profit, then I'd assume the donating party would be entitled to a tax right-off. Check them out and see for yourself.

Try calling some of the local National Guard armorys. If they have people overseas they will have all the information you need.
