LH575 Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Hey all, I have 3 guitars that I don't really play that I don't want to bother selling. 2 Epis, 1 Squier. I have seen outfits that take instruments and put them into the hands of soldiers. Does anyone know who the most legit outfit is? How do I donate a guitar and be 100% sure that one of the troops gets it in his or her hands? Has anyone done this? LH575
Gitfiddler Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 You might check this site: http://www.guitarsforvets.org/ Over at The Gear Page, a regular member called Mojocaster (Mojocaster.com) lists that organization as part of his signature. It looks like a legit organization or at least a well intended way of getting gitfiddles into the hands of vets. If they are a non-profit, then I'd assume the donating party would be entitled to a tax right-off. Check them out and see for yourself.
LH575 Posted September 16, 2009 Author Posted September 16, 2009 Thanks Git, Seems a worthy cause! LH575
High Flying Bird Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Try calling some of the local National Guard armorys. If they have people overseas they will have all the information you need.
