GarMan Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Hello! I was urged by a friend over on the Musictoyz.com forum to join the Heritage Club! I've lurked around on the site for a while gathering information and whatnot... I always wanted a custom LP style guitar, so Heritage came to mind first. Called Jay down at Wofle Guitars, and he hooked me up. Very cool guys over there! I went with a Vintage Sunburst Finish, and a '59 neck profile. I had a hard time picking out the pickups, but I went with Dimarzios 36th Anniversary PAFs (no extra charge!). I waited around 10 weeks to get her. These pickups are AWESOME, especially in this guitar. Very good pickups for the price! The guitar is awesome! I have a happy camper!
Scooter Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Garman! First of all welcome to the HOC. That is an amazing looking guitar. Glad to hear you're happy with the pickups. Congrats!!! Hey, what kind of amp you have there behind the H?
SouthpawGuy Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Hi G'Man and welcome to the HOC ! That's a really cool looking 150 you have there, I really like the finish and those DiMarzios do look very smart indeed.
FredZepp Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 WELCOME to the HOC... Oh Yeah, that is a really, really nice 150. Great to hear about the pick-ups , I am unfamiliar with them. A great combination for sure.... nice headstock also.
DCA Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I'll bet you're a happy camper! That thing looks phenomenal. I really like the flame on your guitar, it's anything but garden variety and flat out gorgeous. I'm not a white pup kinda guy, but boy don't they compliment the incredible finish on that thing--every thing about your guitar is absolutely perfect. I'm green with envy! Welcome aboard and congrats on that brilliant new member to the family
GuitArtMan Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 This forum aint big enough for two G'men!!! Garrrrr!!!! Welcome darth. You'll like it here. See ya over at toyz!
GarMan Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 WELCOME to the HOC... Oh Yeah, that is a really, really nice 150. Great to hear about the pick-ups , I am unfamiliar with them. A great combination for sure.... nice headstock also. Larry just came out with the 36th (odd year), anniversary PAFs just recently. He modeled them off his own '59 Les Paul, so I thought it was be a good match for my Heritage. My gamble paid off. They sound really, really good. Here are some videos.
Gitfiddler Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 GarMan~ Welcome! Great axe you had made. I'd like to check out those p'ups. Do they come with covers also?
Kuz Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Beauty and well done. My finish of choice on a 150!!!!
GarMan Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 This forum aint big enough for two G'men!!! Garrrrr!!!! Welcome darth. You'll like it here. See ya over at toyz! Hey! I should've used my orginal handle huh?!
GarMan Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 GarMan~ Welcome! Great axe you had made. I'd like to check out those p'ups. Do they come with covers also? They sure do come in covers, both vintage nickel covers and shiny new chrome! Check out the vids!
GuitArtMan Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Hey! I should've used my orginal handle huh?! I always thought you should have left of that last "r".
Millennium Maestro Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Very Nice..Indeed. Enjoy, Lot of these 150's are heavy... hows the weight on yours? Guy
GarMan Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 Very Nice..Indeed. Enjoy, Lot of these 150's are heavy... hows the weight on yours? Guy I would say it is around 10 pounds at the most. I haven't weighed it yet. I have an Edwards Jimmy Page copy, and it is lighter than my Heritage. The Edwards weighs about 8 lbs, so I have a feeling that the 150 is around 9 1/2 or so. It is comfortable to play, and it doesn't put my leg to sleep whilst playing sitting down like an 80s LP Custom for instance.
yoslate Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 GarMan, welcome! Not much to add which hasn't already been said. I've been conceiving my next Heritage for the last couple of months, and you've come close! Color on yours is really good, very vintage. All of the creme looks good. I'm sure the p'ups are righteous as well. But the piece de resistance for me is the bound headstock. Just a great finish for a really nice 150. Congrats on a fine concept! By the way, is that a one piece top?
golferwave Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Welcome to the HOC GarMan. That is one fine guitar you have. A really great top. Looks like half flame and half quilt.

By the way, is that a one piece top? Hey! Thanks! I believe it is a two piece. The two slabs of maple don't match up, but neither did most of the LPs made in the 50s. There is a little anomaly in the Maple on the lower bout near the cutaway. It is quite curly there in that one section in the lower bout. It is a stange, strange top. Very unique.
GarMan Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 Garman! First of all welcome to the HOC. That is an amazing looking guitar. Glad to hear you're happy with the pickups. Congrats!!! Hey, what kind of amp you have there behind the H? Thanks! The amp behind the guitar has to belong to Jay. It is not mine, but I'm sure it is a nice amp. It looks like a Marshall cab. Jay took the picture before shipping it off to me. I was dying to take a peak after waiting over two months.
tulk1 Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Pic sure looks like a 1 piece top. No seam that I can see. But then, you're the one that gets to hold it and play it. Regardless, that is one very different top. Sweet guitar. Let me add my welcome, as well.
Thundersteel Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Welcome! That's a nice chunk o' wood ya got there!
