lb61906 Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Hey guys, Still learning more about Heritage instrument, while await the arrival of H-150. In the meantime, I had questions about pickups. 1) Are the Schaller pickups standard on all heritage guitar? Or is that only on the older models. 2) The guitar I bought has Seth Lover humbuckers, how do ther compare to Schallers? 3) What are HRWs? Drop some knowledge on me, Julian
Kuz Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Seths & HRWs are both great. The Seths are a little less powerful and more true PAF. The HRWs are slightly hotter and clear as a door bell. I have HRWs in my 150 Gold top and while I like them, I think I am going to explore a more true PAF pickup like Throbaks (whick are very expensive, but very perfect). The HRW is the perfect jazz/clean pickup IMHO.
shook494 Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Not sure if the Schaller's are still the standard for Heritage? Someone here will tell you. The Seths will be way more vintage sounding than Schallers IMO. I think the Seths are great in the 150's. Schallers always sounded really HOT to me. I like them for metal or rock. HRW's are the custom made pups at Heritage by Mr. Wall. I haven't had the pleasure of owning a pair of these yet, but I hope to very soon. I've heard nothing but good things about them. You guys can correct me if I'm wrong here:) Oh.........Can't wait to see your new guitar!!! Welcome to the HOC!
