rjsanders
all, i searched hereabouts and have seen notice of Steve's passing, so thought i'd add a note of thanks to Steve Rowen, who made the intonatable bridges on our H-137s and so much more for others. i had the pleasure of talking to Steve a couple times about my 137 and a Black Beauty i was doing some serious upgrades (if Steve made it, i wanted it - it turned out ideally). our conversations were on the subject of the work at hand, but also about our favorite stuff in general (mostly guitars. e.g., i had a '68 Black Beauty when he got one of the Goldies). a great guy and masterful craftsman. obit: http://www.tributes.com/show/Steven-Rowen-86670516
tulk1
Jeff, thanks for posting about Steve's passing. I'll have to admit I had not heard of him. It's sad to hear of anyone passing at such an early age. And with the Heritage connection, it's a shame more of us were not aware of him. RIP Steve Rowen. rjsanders
yeahman, there's lots of talent most of us don't know about and it's a pleasure to stumble across them every now and then (my main reason for being on The Gear Page). Steve's talent was appreciated by such well-respected luthiers as Mike Stevens and Bill Chapin... sad loss, indeed
