JazzmanC
I am just curious about this. I gotta deal on used H-150 an it seems to have the old school wide and short frets. I hate feeling like I have to press so hard for a good bend. I would love to get some tall and narrows on this axe. Would Heritage help me out? I would rather them do it than anyone else. JohnCovach
Nothing against the wonderful folks at Heritage, but I have a sense you'd have to wait a very long time for a job like that. You might try Michael Tuttle; I've read lots of great reviews of his wok on other gear pages: Best Frets
big bob
if you got the money honey, they got the time... I would imagine a local lutherier would be more economical, but I would imagine the factory would do it..
bubbaheat
I sent my 140 back to the factory for a re-fret and they trashed it. It was gone for months, came back with a different tail piece and an extra strap button rolling around the case. The Fret job left the guitar unplayable. No one would return my calls or angry letters. While I love my Heritage guitars and think they build fine products, the repair experience was just awful. The guitar hasn't been playable since. GuitArtMan
Did someone mention Bestfrets and it wasn't me?!? Hallelujah!!!! Some pics of Michaels fret work - it's second to none. My 1988 Pre-Historic '59 Flame Top RI The H-535 I sold to Jazzpunk (you'd better be playin' it!!!) My Michael Tuttle Classic S-model I've had Michael do three complete re-frets for me: The above Les Paul and H-535 and another Les Paul, as well as do his signature set up on three other guitars: another H-535. my H-137 and a Warmoth parts-o-caster. I also own the above Classic S-model and am thinking about what my second Tuttle guitar will be. I can not recomend his fret work (or his guitars for that matter) highly enough. He is second to none. http://www.bestfrets.com/

Did you pay for the guitar up front cash? When was the work done? Their a period about 2 yrs ago when they were shut done and no one could answer, but now if I call before 10AM M-TR EST, I ALWAYS get through. I am not doubting that what happened to you did occur, but I will personally give you my credibility that if you call and speak to Vince, they will make it right. PM me if you can't get through or if you need any help. I (as well as many others here) have gotten the word straight from their lips that they will make your guitar right and make you happy. John John, I'm glad to hear the boys are into making things right now. I had a similar situation many years ago with a custom ordered 535. I sent it back for a sublte neck reshape/refinish. I was quoted about 6-8 weeks. After about the 14 month mark I finally got the guitar back and it was a hack job. My previoulsy proffessionaly dressed frets were replaced (as was the whole fingerboard) and the there was horible orange peeling on the neck and the color was off. I sent it back (again) and this time they made it right (except for the frets), but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Glad to hear they are doig a better job now. Bob PS I'm still sending mine to Miahcel Tuttle for fret work.

I had a similar experience recently though the issues with my guitar were very minor in comparison. I did get blown off (I got the 'Yeah, we'll check in to it' and than they just stopped returning my e-mails lol) but it's really not a big deal in my case. You should definitely get your guitar taken care of. Maybe try less of the 'angry' thing and just stay on 'em till they follow through.

Bubba, would that be pre-fire? Let's say, sometime before early '08? We all know there were some issues at that time. From what I've read and witnessed, I'd almost be willing to offer that the fire and flood did a bit more to that company than burn things up. I really do believe it was another turning point for them. "get better, or loose it all". Hopefully we won't see things like your experience, again. That was definitely not a great period for heritage! M.M.
tulk1
That was definitely not a great period for heritage!M.M. No it wasn't, not at all. But I do think that with the rebuild, and now the support group (uh ... that would be us. ) that we've seen them become a bit more customer-centric (argh!! i just had to use that word, it's the "buzz" at work, adding "centric" to everthing)
Kuz
For the record, I would probably have MY guitars refretted somewhere where they specialize in refretting. But if I had sent one in and it was not up to par, I would be confident that they would fix it correctly (with the newer improved Heritage customer focus).
