SouthpawGuy Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 i would muchly dig a 170 or a 137dc. how does yours sound compared to this thread's vid? It's a bit hard to tell from the Youtube clip but I'd say very similar ( obviously). I prefer the full humbucker tone, neck pickup especially, the P-90 tones are good also, and I'm not really into the single coil rails tone much at all. The different combinations of P-90 neck and bridge humbucker and vice versa are very interesting. Mine is set up for independent operation, i.e. each pickup has it's own mini switch with humbucker / P90/rail options . The third switch is not set up at the moment. I actually prefer the sound of the P-Rails to HRWs which I have in the Millie and the VIP2, (with D-VIP switching). The clean tone is bright and full with not too much output.
