pointybootz
Am considering an H-575 (yet to be picked out) and trading out of my Ibanez (2355M). Anyone done this before who'd like to reflect on their differences/ prices paid, etc, whatever? Thnx for anything!
Jazzpunk
Welcome! Never played your Ibanez so can't be of much help in doing a point by point comparison. I can tell you without a doubt though that the used prices on 575's are ridiculous. Almost criminal imo! I paid full retail price for mine and it was worth every penny. In fact, had I known I'd love it so much I would've spent more on a 575 custom! Good luck with whatever you decide.
rjsanders
best H-575 i've played was recent vintage, spruce top, used price $1500 or at a local dealer. considerably more than a real nice-looking Ibanez 2355M at Elderly right now. but the Heritage was an incredible deal, nevertheless. only advice: play before buying. you just never know. same dealer has (for me) a more desireable '96 or so Eagle for $1600. i passed on both when i ran across an unbelievable deal on a different archtop. 'nother option: Wolfe has some 575s and you can try before you buy (48 hrs), costs a little, but is well worth it, IMHO.
skydog
welcome to HOC and you don't have to be cautious here; a lot of friendly people with no axe to grind. wait a minute we should all have at least one axe to grind!
pegleg32
Welcome Pointyboot!!! In the acoustic, semi-actoustic area, there are probably few peers to Heritage, and the solid bodies are pretty darn good also. I actually have two axes to grind - an H-150 and an H-535!!! High Flying Bird
It would be hard for me to imagine that you wouldn't like a 575.
Steiner
I've never played an Ibanez other than acoustic. I've never played a 575 I didn't like.

DCA
Welcome I wouldn't mind hearing more about your 2355. I'm a huge fan of Ibanez's defunct Starfield line of American made guitars (not at all pointy). Although they weigh a ton, they're the best Strats and Thinlines I've ever played. Used full-sized Ibanez jazz boxes seem very reasonably priced and they seem like a great opportunity to get a feel for a full sized jazz guitar before laying down the mega bongo bucks on a Heritage. I'd appreciate anything you might like to pass along.
DC Ron
There's a following for these, and Ibanez pre-lawsuit 2355's sometimes bring G* prices. There's one on Gbase now for $2K+. The ES-175 that these are obviously based on are versatile guitars. What sound are you loooking for? There are some very nice carved top Heritage models that will get you to Wes-tone (more L-5C than ES-175) in that $1-2K range. And if you go up another bump there are some even more stunning deals on the used market. Great idea to look at Heritage guitars. Welcome!
