Yes, terminated I think. Better get your order in before they destroy the Molds! :D

The 525 is a solid back, sides and top maple. Check out Jazzpunk's shots in his gallery; Sweet!!!

Close but not exactly accurate.

Solid back & sides, and laminate maple top. The 575 has a solid maple top.

I don't mind the laminate maple top on my 555, 535, or 525 as it reduces feedback. (But I LOVE the 575s as well. Even though I don't own one).

Closer but still inaccurate - according to website: "Laminated cream bound curly maple top and back, hollow body with solid maple rim." Shame on us!

H550 and Eagle Classic discontinued ... I'm feeling sort of orphaned today, but glad that I have both these models. H550 was the only production full hollow 2-pickup laminated 17" guitar in America, I think, and the Eagle Classic had to be the most affordable US-made solid carved archtop, as well as being a very elegant guitar design. I always saw these as great market niches for Heritage, but then, what do I know?

Maybe these guitars will still be made and they are just ironing out kinks in the website --such as the two entries for the 575.

I've always thought the 525 had laminated top and back ...certainly, the es 325 on which it is based, did, and the 525 emerged on Wolfe's site after he had posted a special laminated 575, which seemed to be a sort of prototype. My 2 cents of course, don't claim any special knowledge.

--whoops, meant es-225, not 325, but didn't catch the error until too late to edit.

OK, starting to strike a never here. I don't recall ONE person saying they are special ordering a 550 or Eagle Classic. I NEVER read about them here.

It supply and demand folks. If no one is buying them, then they SHOULD be discontinued.

But prove me wrong. Let's see a listing of HOC members that bought either a NEW 550 or NEW Eagle classic this past year, or have one on order?

Ah, yea, that's what I thought!

I bought a new eagle classic last Dec. She's the beaut on the right in my avatar. Of course it was NOS from 1999, so your point is well taken.

I have always loved Joe's 550. I will more than likely own one someday. I will probably custom order one which I am sure they will be happy to make for me. :D

My earlier post was meant to suggest that I thought these models were well placed in the market, but that the fact that they were discontinued demonstrated that I was wrong --"what did I know?" Clearly, not much. I think it is sad that these very cool, unique-in-today's-world guitars are going out of production, but obviously they are being discontinued because they are not profitable, or not as profitable as others in the line.

I'm not sure why my right to comment should be conditioned on ordering one of these guitars ...I already own both, so why exactly would I order another, even if I could afford any new guitar at the moment? The one hallmark of my muttly accumulation of guitars is that I do not intentionally duplicate the features I think most determine tone: body styles/pickup types/hardware. Just a little striking that of the three Heritage models that I own, I learned that two were discontinued today. A tribute to my backward taste, I guess, or maybe it's my taste in backs...

I e-mailed Wolfe a couple of weeks ago to get a quote on an Eagle classic with some bling upgrades. Since than however, I've started lusting over the idea of a Golden Eagle with a florentine cutaway.

I love every Heritage hollowbody design and hate to see any of them discontinued (and no I can't afford to own them all but sure would if I could!). I understand if they have to but it's still sad to see 'em go.

(BTW, I blame the increasing cost of my GAS on Zepp and Steiner for showcasing two of the finest custom instruments I've seen of late!)

I had to replace my keyboard after drooling through your gallery.

Fess up. It's your fault JP, not mine. Ok; Fred's too

As I recall the H-550 is dimensionally the same as an Eagle, except with laminated top and back and different top bracing. The bridge studs are set in to the body too. That said, all the rim tooling should apply. I don't see any reason they couldn't make it.

Now as Kuz points out, supply and demand may dictate culling a few to save the herd, instantly transforming my H-550 into a hard to find classic worth significantly more than it was last week  Anyone want to trade for an H-575 Custom?

I heard from the powers that be on the website. In their words:

"Currently, there are approx. 10 more Model Photos and Specifications to be added at a later date; the lack of some models implies that 'those' models are no longer in production, but rather, they are soon to be added. If questions continue to arise from visitors to HeritageGuitar.com concerning the lack of specific models and whether or not 'those' models are in production - we will add an explanation or provide a list of Photos and Specs to come. Apologies for any confusion."

It sounds as if they still have some work to do but kindly appreciate our input on the contacts page on the Heritage website. It doesn't appear that any models have been deleted, they simply have to get them up and running.

Sorry for any smelly mis-contusions earlier...

Hey now... Certainly you both provided drool-worthy shots of your new axes. Both nothing less than stunning in their execution ;)

And others also...Kuz's pics of the Nat 525 come to mind... ;)

There seems to be a cycle of enabling here at the HOC.
