skydog52
H-445. Hands down. EDIT: OK, maybe the H-475 is up there, too. Maybe I should have said the most acoustic sounding hollowbody electric
Steiner
H-445. Hands down. EDIT: OK, maybe the H-475 is up there, too. Touche! The question is too concise. Which acoustic are you after? Jumbo or parlor size plus wood effects. I'm loving the various Heritage hollow bodies for acoustic AND amplified properties. There are a few here that might stand behind their semi hollow bodies too. What are you looking for?
rjsanders
Maybe I should have said the most acoustic sounding hollowbody electric i was gonna say an acoustic non-cutaway Sweet 16, but i guess it'll have to be a Golden Eagle (or Super Eagle or Super KB), since it's got the size & depth ('cept for FredZepp's MonsterEagle) (didn't know there was a -475. looks like there was a -485, too (Blue Book of Acoustic Guitars)...) rjsanders
the longer scale length helps, too. but that's with those archtops are unplugged. plugged in, my Millie DC has a real nice acoustic-y sound in the neck position with the coil tapped (HRW)
High Flying Bird
At the first PSP the Heritage employees were using Eagles and Sweet 16s for acoustics. Let me tell you, there was some really nice inlay work on those personal guitars. Slate's Super Eagle was very acoustic like.
yoslate
Slate's Super Eagle was very acoustic like. I play that guitar, unamplified, all the time. Sounds very good, pretty loud, considering the controls and those P-90's are screwed into the top!
skydog52
Thanks everyone. Just wanted some input on the hollowbodys Heritage makes. Like Slate I would like to just pick it up without plugging in, so I don't wake up everybody or the constant "turn it down dad". I plan on ordering one after the first of the year. Looks like maybe a Golden Eagle with its spruce top might be a possibility.
DC Ron
my super eagle with x-bracing is the loudest archtop I've played unplugged. Owned Gitfiddler's golden eagle (also x braced) and that's plenty loud too. I have a parallel braced eagle classic that's very nice plugged or unplugged, but not as loud as the super.
