skydog
I've been told they switched to a mahogany neck on the 555, but the brand new site still lists a 1 pc maple neck.
Steiner
I'd wager you can get it whichever way your heart desires! Now THAT's beautiful!
Kuz
Actually, I believe (could be wrong) that the flamed maple neck is now an up grade charge. When I was ordering my Cust 555 (I WANTED mahogany neck & rosewood fretboard vs the then standard Maple neck/ebony fretboard) I actually got a credit for ordering mahogany/RW instead of the Maple/ebony. skydog52
I received my H-555 this year and it had a 1 piece mahogany neck. My first one circa 1999 was a one piece curly maple. I think those are the original specs. I have one on order with a 5 piece neck. Like Steiner stated they will make you just about anything you desire. Gitfiddler
The current standard neck material for 555's is 1 pc Mahogany. However IF I were to order any other semi-hollow or full hollowbody Heritage, it would be with a 5 pc (Flame Maple wMahogany stringers) as is standard on the Sweet 16 and Golden Eagle models. That is such a classy looking/feeling neck.
