Please tell me about the Millenium H155

Hi,

I'm hoping to learn more about the Millenium H155. I have two questions in particular but welcome any thoughts at all on the guitar as I'm offered one in trade and don't have any local to check out.

1. Using a spectrum of H535 on one side and Gibson Les Paul on the other, where would you put the H155 in terms of sound?

2. What's current fair value range of a recent model w/ Seth Lovers in very good condition?

Thanks for your assistance.

Evan,

The 155 is basically what my Millie NFH is, except mine is double cut. I think of my Millie, without the f-holes, as being a bit more 150LW-ish. It doesn't have quite the response of the semi, due to the solid top. That back doesn't vibrate quite as much, either; and there is no "pushing the air". Not to say it doesn't resonate, because it does. But not in the semi-hollow fashion. Of course the pickup have a lot to do with the overall sound. But I'd have to put the Milllennium 155 closer to the 150 side than the 535. And keep in mind it was never intended to be a 535-type guitar. The solid top and back, with the semi-solid carve tends to put it in it's own category. So, with saying it's more 150-ish, it's still not a 150. (was that response circular? )

Value is what you put on it. ;) But, how new?

The 155 comes with Seth's with a maple back and sides while the ultra is mahogeny. I will say the bridge is closer to a 150 while the neck will be more 555 due to the ebony board.

IN CHIMES THE M.M.

The neck profile on a millie is a real nice thin shape...like a nice 157.

Weight is very comfortable... not as bulky to play as the 555/535.

Seths are absolutely great, perfect VINTAGE reproduction... The are terrible if you play high gain/loud volumes.

I find the millies to be more responsive, chimey and lively...due to the fact they have a solid 1/2 inch maple cap, 535/555 have ply tops a feature that gives the instrument its signature sound.

In my case i have sold my 535s and would replace any stolen 535/555 with a millie... But thats just me!!

Lowest price.. around a grand for a poorly described mille with bad descriptions that you have to take a chance on...

Higher prices for well documented used guitars that have nice tops... average $1350 +/- ??. More features, better top more money. My 155 has a transducer LRBaggs bridge pickup. cool upgrade.

Help out the Big boys... by buying new... get exactly what you want built for yourself exclusively.
