KissTone Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 I rewired my H150 with the RS pots and some NOS Sprague 'black beauty' caps. I went with the '50s wiring' on the tone circuit (but the jury's still out on this one). Anyway, there are so many different wiring diagrams on the internet each with its own way of diagramming the circuit that it's a bit tricky to be certain everything is done correctly . . . so can you have a look at the pics I've posted? Does it look right to you? I'm getting more hum than I expected whenever I take my hands off the guitar. Also, the tone controls seems ineffective until you roll down to at least 3 . . . Thundersteel Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 Everything looks good to me, wiring-wise. Are the capacitors polarized? (one end +; the other end -) If they are, then you have one of them backwards. If I remember correctly, the stripe indicates which end is negative (-).

I'll have to look. Thanks for the heads-up.
LK155 Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 The subject line reminds me of an old joke....... Two cannibals are busy dining on a clown they had just boiled. One says to the other, "Does this taste funny to you?"
