jhack Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Hello, The version 25 éme anniversary of H-535 and H-150 are visible on the official site. Not of big difference with the "normal" versions. What do you think of it?
GuitArtMan Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 The 535 pictured looks like it has nice figured wood.
Thundersteel Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 You'd think they would add a "25th Anniversary" MOP banner to the headstock, instead of just engraving it on the TRC. Except for the upgraded woods, it's just a regular production model, IMHO.
Poelbaum Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I actually have one on order. I agree that perhaps more could have been done. In fact I tried to order with a few extras. They would not let me. They told Jay Wolfe that it was "their" 25th anniversary guitar and they wanted it to be exactly as it is. I can respect that, even if I did want a bound headstock. For me it was not a tough decision though as I was going to order one anyways and they gave the Ultra Wood package for same price as their stock 535. I am not sure for someone who already has a few that it is that compelling. However for someone like me getting their first 535, the extras and potential collectibility make it desireable.
erplander Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I have one on order too. Like you, Poelbaum, I wanted to order an H535 but decided on the 25th anniversary model instead because of the free wood upgrade. I agree that a bound headstock would have been a nice touch, but it's not a deal breaker for me. I was able to have Jay order mine with Lollar imperials, vintage wiring, and a 50s-style neck, and those features, along with the wood upgrade, were the most important for me. Came out much cheaper than if I had ordered a custom H535, so I'm happy.

Have you heard anything on delivery times?
erplander Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 I chose antique natural, which Jay said he usually has Heritage add a little more yellow to the tint, giving it a bit of honey blond flavor. Similar to this one, I'm hoping. I ordered it the first week of October. Jay thought it might take 8 to 10 weeks or so. He said there were a couple 25th anniversary H535s nearly ready at that time, but because I wanted a thicker neck profile I'd need to wait for them to start a new one. I haven't heard anything else since then. When is yours supposed to be ready? What p/us, finish etc. did you choose?
zookroo1 Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Not that I have the money for one, but can they be ordered with block inlays? I love the look of the blocks with the big bodied 535...
barrymclark Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 A sweet guitar to be sure. I too was expecting they might have upgraded inlays or some sort of 25th inlay on the headstock. BUT... for the same price as a stock 535, the wood upgrade is awesome.

barrymclark Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 I believe Jay said no block inlays when I asked about it. Yeah. I thought I read that the 25th Annies are as they are.
Poelbaum Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 erplander, I chose Vintage Wine Burst "VWB" a new colour, or color as you Americans say, shown on the 110 and 170 on their new website. I ordered on October 1. Jay told me likely 8-10 weeks as well so we shall see. Also to the other poster whose name I cant see at this moment, no block inlays were not permitted. Cosmetically guitars must look as is. pups and electronics changes were permitted and apparently neck width was too.
yoslate Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 I chose Vintage Wine Burst "VWB" a new colour, or color as you Americans say, That's a gorgeous finish! I've seen it in the flesh on Kuz's P-90 535, and it's one of the richest colors I've ever seen on wood.
