Bluzman54 Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I happened to be out last night doing a little "bar hopping". I walked into a club where they had a live band.....as I walked in I looked at the guitarist to see what he was playing. To my surprise he was playing an H150. I leaned in and told him I was part of the "family"....he pointed behind him to his other guitars- 3 more Heritages. This is the first time I have seen someone playing a Heritage in a band...and then to see 3 others as backup was very cool. Of course I live in "Wolfe Country" and I know he sells lots of Heritages, but to actually see one out performing in the hands of an extremely competent player was great. Jim C
smurph1 Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Awesome!! Great story! and it's Friday too..Life is good...
pegleg32 Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Truly an ever widening band of afficienandos.
Scooter Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Jim, that's cool. Funny, whenever I see a band live or on TV (or guitar mag articles, etc.) the first thing I find myself scanning for is to see if anyone's playing a Heritage. Rare. Actually, the only times I've caught people with a Heritage (outside Wolfe) they've been on youtube clips and a couple mag articles. It's like a bigfoot sighting, so it's exciting when you see it. Live would be best, though.
Doug Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 "I leaned in and told him I was part of the "family" Good thing he didn't mistake you for a goombah wanting payment for protection.
chico Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Great story, next time grab a shot w/your phone camera of the lineup...
Gitfiddler Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Interesting and in a very good way! Here in Northern Calif., I am seeing more and more Heritages being played out by REAL musicians these days also. Just last week my brother (an LA producer and full time musician) sent me a photo of him playing keyboards with a new band. Sure enough, the guitar player was slingin' a 535!! The word of Heritage's value and quality is getting out among players, as well as collector nut cases like us.
Doug Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I rarely see them being played out at clubs even here in Kalamazoo. Probably because they are too valued to bring out into the smokey bars.
ronalr Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 That is a neat story...don't see many around the Baltimore area either....the only Heritage dealer that I know of near here happens to be the store I deal with locally (the owner turned me on to Heritage and sold me my 535) ...I am surprised how many guitar players don't know a thing about Heritage....whenever I let a friend play mine they are really impressed by how nice they are...
