hubberjub Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 In a moment of weakness (or extreme brilliance) I happed upon a gentleman giving up playing guitar and I ended up increasing my Heritage collection by 300%. I am now the lucky owner of a 157 and three 150s. My wife is going to kill me.
FredZepp Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Hey , these are the ones from the gear page , aren't they... If so... yeah ,I would have bought them all too. Those are some real beauties !!!! HAPPY NEW GUITAR DAY....
Gitfiddler Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Congratulations on your new family! Oh, and by the way...before your wife kills you...please put me in your will for that black 150 with the bound headstock!!

Those are some real beauties !!!! HAPPY NEW GUITAR DAY.... Yep, they are from TGP. The seller lived about an hour from me and I couldn't pass it up. He was a very nice guy as well. If he still has anything left for sale I would highly recommend him.
Spectrum13 Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 My wife is going to kill me. Don't forget to tell her what you paid for them before the estate sale! Something like $199 each.
hubberjub Posted November 13, 2009 Author Posted November 13, 2009 Don't forget to tell her what you paid for them before the estate sale! Something like $199 each. I did get a good price on the guitars but I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I had purchased them that inexpensively.
smurph1 Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Give ya a dollar for the Tobacco colored one!!
zookroo1 Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Holy crap, you're my hero! I'll come over to help you play them...
hubberjub Posted November 13, 2009 Author Posted November 13, 2009 Give ya a dollar for the Tobacco colored one!! So far that's my favorite of them. It's not as flashy as the others are.
pegleg32 Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Isn't this kind of like the guy who finds a Corvette in the farmers garage? Nice grab!! Let me know if you would consider a lend/lease program.
ronalr Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Congratulations...all lookers but I really like the tobacco one!!....no wonder I can't find a 150...you bought them all
fxdx99 Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Wow - congrats hubernub. I'd put that in the extreme brilliance category. Talk about the right place at right time. Yeh, the tobacco finish is my fav as well.
Scooter Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Hubberjub, that is a great story. And congratulations x4. You'll have to fill us in on some details soon about these gems (pups, etc.). Thanks for the pics!
pro-fusion Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 The creme-colored hardware on that 157 is probably aftermarket, but I love the look!
yoslate Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 An HOC Mythic Hero is born! Congrats! And kudos to the taste of the cat whose collection that was. I hope dire circumstance did not force the sale...fine specimens all!
Jazzpunk Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Congrats Hubberjub! I would've snatched that Tobacco Burst one right up (well if I had beaten everyone else here to it lol). It's a beauty!

hubberjub Posted November 16, 2009 Author Posted November 16, 2009 Nice geetars, congrats ! p.s. are you still alive ? I am still breathing and all parts of my anatomy are currently intact. Thankfully my wife does not yet view my spending habbits as the addiction that it truly is. I've only just had the chace to put them through their paces. So far the black 157 is my favorite playing guitar. It has a slimmer neck profile than the other three. Both the 157 and the cherry 150 have had Dimarzio Super Distortions in the bridge and Dimarzio PAFs in the neck. I was suprised by how useable the SD is. I've always been under the impression that it was higher output than it really is. The seller even included the stock Seymour Duncan 59s. (I'm going to put those in my 535 and finally get rid of the Schallers.) The goldtop and the tobacco burst both have the stock Seymour Duncan 59s and sound great. I had never played a 150 before. I'm glad I took the plunge. They are everything I've wanted out of a Les Paul that I could never find in a current production G-bson.
