Anyone know? gold hardware. guess a phone call is in order for anything else...i don't see any diff at all betwixt the ones above & below the custom one (wish they had one with a venetian cutaway...)

Gitfiddler Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 I cannot say for sure, but I'd bet a 575 Custom would also imply other non-standard options/upgrades are available. My 575 has gold hardware, bound headstock and F-holes, plus the choice woods package...but Dots. It even has a pearl dot inlay on the heel. I bought it used, so I don't know what the original order was. Go figure!

I bought it used, so I don't know what the original order was. Go figure! The above plus trapezoid inlays. Why is this hard to understand, a custom 575 is just a decked out 575 (like a 555 is a decked out 535). Hope it helps.
rjsanders Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 neck is bound, too...heck, they oughta least put "Custom" on the truss rod cover...
barrymclark Posted November 24, 2009 Author Posted November 24, 2009 neck is bound, too...heck, they oughta least put "Custom" on the truss rod cover... Maybe they do. Sometimes the site isn't the most reliable place for exacting info. If I had the cash today, I gotta say, I don't know which I would want more: the 575 or the 550.

If I had the cash today, I gotta say, I don't know which I would want more: the 575 or the 550. Yes my Custom has all the attributes mentioned earlier in the thread, gold hardware, bound neck and head and block inlays. But you would think they might have higher spec pickups. Not the case on mine which I have found has Stewmac Golden Age humbuckers. I'm pleased with them but they're not regarded as top of the heap!
SouthpawGuy Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 My 575 Custom has the block inlays, bound neck and fingerboard and Duncan 59s'. It also has an unusual tail piece for a Heritage, usually seen on ES175s', but I have seen another right handed 575 Custom with the same specs as mine and same tail piece. .. almost forgot, it also has chrome hardware.
